I should of also stated that i know ratm isn't what a lot of people call metal but it's probably the closest thing to metal that i actually listen to.

Meh, it's a shame there are so many metal heads who hate electronic music.
Before I listened to dubstep I was also a metal-only listener who hated all electronic music, but I opened my eyes and I like a lot more now. Some of my friends don't even get it, seeing my behind the decks with a hoodie from Slayer :p
Point is, he doesn't like it? So be it, but he doesn't have to rant about it if he doesn't know anything about metal or dubstep.
