i think the point about the wankery is important
most artists balance out moments of pure genius with a bit of self indulgent experimentation and fair enough to em. Although on the other hand you do get alot of it in electronic music

However

I am not so impressed by DJ's basically ever,( DMC doesnt even hype me up these days) so seeing some people do some live shit, useing ableton and/or live instrumentals is always a really great show. IF the performer has his shit together & knows what he's doing.....Rusko maxed out his levels several times when he performed here. He also seemed to be haveing a difficult time with keeping everything together(you know?).

Well it is out there. Spinal Tap took the piss out of it in that mockumentary, anyone remember the half hour long bass jazz odyssey?

Basically what I'm trying to say is, its wank, its bass wanking. I have mates that are well into there guitar and bass wanking constantly showing me stuff like this and what I think yeah its alright, but I think the actually music is taking a backseat to the wank, ya know what I mean?

But at the end of the day its what ever floats your boat I guess
I think you need to listen to the Ultravisitor album if you haven't already...an album combining live and studio works...wank free focused live bass...ridiculously good...btw i'm not writing rusko off as i haven't seen him yet...
