they've got a long history within drum & bass for pressing up dodgy whites of tunes, bootlegs, claiming to be selling tunes that are still on dub etc etcGodflesh Fiend wrote:syhr wrote:HTFR have always been scumbags,
Why do you say that?
I'm not really familiar with them but I have bought the record from them.
just do a quick search for htfr on other forums - DOA for example - and see how many threads come up
not saying this La Roux rmx is necessarily shadey, but it wouldn't be a suprise if it is...
Pretty sure its legit..
Juno have it in stock too.. http://www.juno.co.uk/ppps/products/353046-01.htm

Im guessing the distributors found more or something similar? Would be veeery strange for 2 reputable online record stores to get back in copies of something like this at the same time surely? What skream said rules out the repress, but yeah, more copies floating about? Got to say I would have there to be less/them to sell out quicker than this.

Other stores are stocking this skream remix why are they not being dragged into this?
Well, according to this guy they do stock bootlegs.skream wrote:this is not legit
And in response to other stores; Chemical, Dubplate, BM Soho and Red Eye are not stocking this so...
I've heard a lot of talk recently about the commercialisation of dubstep meaning that the focus for the music will switch from love of the sound to money making, and unfortunately I'm starting to see this now. Happened with Smut's Badman place last month, happening with THIS now!

big up u cuz, you just bought a bootlegmillski wrote:alright mate it was a simple misunderstanding.
still dont get why its such a travesty to buy a bloody record...
if you like it/think it will would go down well then buy it.
if not, dont, or download the leaked copy (apperantly)...
and while im on the point, it wasnt exactly a 'free download' was it, it wasnt as if skream upped it for DSF members as a freebie, he expressed on here how much it f**ked him off that it was leaked, so if i wanna hear it, ill buy it...

I do remember back in the day HTFR was the only place you could cop the Fugees remix on some dodgy 4 track white label...

PASTED FROM SOURCE
d+b bootlegs from HTFR
was just reading about the new bootleg of 'the nine' exclusive to HTFR. I am suspicious that maybe htfr are the source of these bootlegs?
i was fucked over by htfr at xmas when buying a copy of 'roll on' and 'bonanza kid'. Both were advertised as 'uk official promo', and they charged about £15 for each. Rather than post out a proper copy, they sent out a bootleg that sounded like it had been recorded onto a dictaphone ,and on extremely warped vinyl.
Basically i got in touch with Trading Standards to report it, and they confirmed it was bootlegged. I looked into things a bit further, and it appears that HTFR is always the first source of these bootlegged vinyls. Sometimes they are unique in having exclusive stock of other classics they offer and I am guessing that they are responsilbe for the 'nine' bootlegs that have just come out.
I'm not sure what Trading Standards did in my case with respect to pursuing things with HTFR, but they are breaking the law on two counts: 1/ selling bootlegged material and 2/ incorectly advertising it as 'official uk promos'
It could possibly be them that produce these vinyls, as there are no other sites that seem to have the unparalleled levels of stock of these bootlegs.
Evidence that confirms this is the fact that even if one of their bootlegged vinyls is 'out of stock', it is always possible for HTFR to 'order in' more copies.
Check this for 'roll on' for example:
http://www.htfr.com/wishlist/?catno=MR127423
The way they can get these bootlegs on demand suggests they are manufacturing them themselves, or have connections to the place producing them. Either way its gotta stop, they fucked me over twice before with the tunes i mentioned. They shouldnt really be stocking them in the first place, let alone taking orders for more when they run out of stock!
