come on guys keep recommending stuff!

i really want to find some good funky coz it's blatantly the "next big thing"

everything i've heard so far has been extremely dull, lazily produced and has contained horrible horrible melodies, irritating rhythms and sometimes appalling vocals, but i'm SURE there's some good stuff out there!

this uk funky shit sounds like i went into a time machine back to 1992 with a dancehall album and started playing it at clubs and they all went...

alright lets do the same shit but with that beat.

1992 + dancehall beat = uk funky.

prove me wrong with some links

Why do you want to jump on a scene cos its 'the next big thing'?

personally, if I find a track I like, I dig it cos its good, not cos of the genre or the scene.

these two are big. tribal riddims and big bass at house tempo- but not from LDN so probaly not strictly funky. not about that though imo

big at Ruffnek Discotek anyway. Atki2 & dub Boy play some good tribal funky but I dun know the producers.

i've listened to everything thats been suggested so far, to be honest most of it is exactly what i first described it as however theres been a couple of artists yous have mentioned who may have some stuff i'd like - that roska guy and octa push. ive checked them both out and theres some tunes there that would definitely go down well in a club, the rest seems still too queer for my liking im afraid.

Oh well, i wont give up on it just yet then, i suppose all genres have a majority of shit artists you need to sift through to find a few ones worth looking out for eh.

Hard House Banton required.
Also, less on the homophobia, don't make me point out the lineage from dubstep back to the gay bars of Chicago and New York.

man that cooly g dub love track I was feeling quite a lot but everything else on there, not for me.

Maybe I should just be tuning into rinse or something because I keep hearing funky mentioned but have no idea what it is, and like someone said, it seems like the next big thing. Like that's not going to make me dig it but I'd at least like to know what's happening with it before it breaks out.

Just to bring a bit of reality to the situation, WTF is everyone talking about? Seriously?

I thought funky house was funky house? Funky grooves (i.e. Slowish) layered over a 4x4 groove with lots of swing and jazz? As compared to other funkier grooves which aren't as slow?
