Isn't the case for Homeopathy borne out by quantum science theory?

Surely it doesn't have to be an either/or. That's just the way the media would like us to perceive it.

thank you dreamizm...i was about to say that many are missing the point.

To completely dismiss homeopathy just because you think modern science could be correct more often is absurd. Every major breakthrough in human history, including the scientific method, the helio-centric universe, the round planet, and human equality were called ridiculous at some point by the 'more intelligent' sectors of society. Does that mean those now outdated sectors were stupid? no...it's just that human beings do the best we can with what WE KNOW. What we do not know, we cannot YET expand on.

Homeopathy could be a bunch of crap made up by hippies, or it could be something that the majority of us do not yet understand. That is the extent to which any human being on earth can discuss it at this point. It's worked & it hasnt, just like modern science.

That said, i do believe that they key to everything is merely to open your mind to the possibility. You will often fail, but that one time you succeed could change everything!

homeopathy is about 200 years old, it fails to work past placebo in double blind scientific studies - it doesn't work - you miss the point with science - it as never been an all knowing encyclopedia of truth - its entirely likely we will never know truth. it tests theory/hypothesis with experiment. thats what it is. if something thought to be true then evidence turns out to disprove it science is revised.
for example newtons laws arnt entirely correct einstein revised them but they are good enough approx to use on our scale.
what hasn't worked in modern science ? if it doesn't work its not science.

and as for the media - they are seriously bad at reporting science as a rule.

first of all...homeopathy is 200 years old...ok, thats completely insignificant. How long did we KNOW that the earth was flat & that you could remove diseases with leeches? Also, someone stated above that the subject matter did in fact work on animals. Unless the rats & monkeys know what the pills are supposed to do to them...thats double blind. But i already said i have no opinion on whether it actually works, just that there IS A CHANCE SOME OF IT COULD.

And finally...there are things that exist & affect us in the world that we cannot see, explain or possibly study at this point in our evolution. Energy is one of these. We OBVIOUSLY do not have a COMPLETE understanding of "energy" as a concept or we wouldnt be killing people to put dino bones in our gas tanks. In the big picture, our current amount of human knowledge is fucking ZERO...so all i'm saying is that leaves 100% possibility...

you said maybe its a bunch of hippies that came up with it - i was just saying it wasn't.
im agree we don't know allot but saying its zero is pushing it. for a species of ape we've come pretty bloody far in the last 250 years in our understanding of nature.
richard feynman had the best way of putting this imo (a bit off topic)

In the uk there is a homeopathic hospital part funded by the nhs in london- in studies compared to eachother there is little to no effect observed compared to conventional medicine.
theres allways this issue about water memory or stored energy - fine but that would mean water would store memories from all impurities it ever touched which would mean water out the tap would probably be just as effective as the water you get from the homeopath.
If any one can show me a serious study where homeopathy has cured an incurable health problem in a group of rats , where another group of rats with the same problem were given tap water and there was a positve effect in favor of homeopathy i will bow down and say im wrong.

the greeks knew the earth was round, leaches are still used for some treatments - all sorts of cures have been found from plants and in my opinion needs allot more research. there is evidence to suggest that accupuncture is useful for treating back pain etc. there are extrodinarily healthy old men that practice chi kung and kung fu but if homeopathy works then im the bloody pope.

Ignorant. That's not a cure, it's a prevention. There are other ways to get AIDS as well.

Word.

If something works, then it works under test conditions. Homeopathy has never been shown to work under test conditions - so that doesn't just mean we don't understand it - it means it doesn't reliably work. The idea that it should get any sort of public funding is mental unless they can prove to the country that it's a worthwhile use of their money - until then, feel more than free to offer it on the open market - gullible people like spending money with all sorts of things like that - fortune tellers, astrologists, homeopathists, faith healers.... none of them can prove their craft, but people are still willing to pay on the off chance. That's fine, but don't expect me to support my tax money going anywhere near it - I'd rather it went towards new MRI machines and courses of medicine for sick people.

i didnt say i wanted my tax money to support it...just sayin there could be some uses that we are not yet aware of therefore do not yet know that we should be studying. :)
