I used a few too and everything mans is saying here is bang on - its an old cliche but you can use any program if you learn it and get used to it (for me this normally takes the same time - "bedding in" - with new DAWs anyway).

Your chops and mix make 1,000,000,000 times more difference to your final sound than your kit - truss!
increase sample buffer size until it stops

i seriously mix on an integrated laptop soundcard in FL with 1 stereo out and have absolutely 0 complaints... deep into a sesh when i start getting overruns i just up the sample buffer size

take that, clickheads
