@ Kontigobeats - Really nice mellow track. Nice and progressive so i wasn't bored ever. I haven't really heard anything like that before. To me it kinda sounded a bit like an epic old skool video game track. And that kinda gave it a strange vibe which i also enjoyed 8) Only thing i would suggest is for the build at about 2:05. I would have the LFO speed a bit slower and maybe even leave the automation off until it kicks back in with the drums. That (in my oppinion) would just make that second drop harder and keep the bass automation a bit fresher for the finish. The track sounds good, big sound, i'm particularly fond of the snare. keep it up! PEACE!

Got a track im trying to shape and would love idea's on the structure. If you get a vibe off the track and have an idea where it should head (eg, dancy-er, harder, weirder) then type that shit down! ha ha.

Listen to Strange Matter @ http://soundcloud.com/olux/strange-matter :e:

Have a listen from the 2:00 min point (where the bass flows) if you like, the start will be re-written once i've found the feel of tha track.
Hey man, really appreciate the feedback, gd to know youre feeling it! yea that was the kind of spacey video game sound i was going for! and i wanted to keep it interesting so thats gd to know you thought that! yea il bear that in mind for the 2nd drop, im not that gd at working with automation tho! haha.
any thoughts on the mix..sounding gd? the engineer thought maybe the bass was too loud?

your track sounds good man, i like the little details you put in, some nice percussions, think especially from the 2nd drop its a nice track, good bassv wobbles and sound, the vibe i get is quite a laid back one actually, maybe coz of that flute sounding sample and kind of slow drums, i like that though! dont think you need to do much more too it, sounding nice! keep it up!

Depone-Thanks for the feedback! All I gotta say, those drums are awesome...The hit very much hard enough.

RedJuan - I like what I heard especially all the background "noise", Interested to see how it turns out in the end. :D

Donpablo - I dig the voice sample and how its in sync with your drums.. Actually, I REALLY dig that voice sample.

JBE - I like the music the bass the stabs, real nice... that samples kinda depressing though...

Astral - that refix is pretty awesome!

Kontigo - I agree with olux, maybe work on the second drop? But anyways, I was movin' to it 2:43.. Makes me want to be able to dance, and rap... You did a good job man.

Static Cast - Thats an awesome mix, especially at 1:43.. I really don't think you left anything out.. Gotta love the 808.
Maybe the second parts too long, maybe.. I don't know.

@kontigobeats - Nice sounding, clean, that retro game style. For some reason it reminds me of timbaland xD.

@DrBio - Unusual mix of elements, if you like that kind of shit the second half is quite nice, but to me it feels like your getting the wrong mood on the go with the intro.

Updated my earlier wip >.<

DrBio - the way the drop opens with the drums coming in on the two is nice! the shaker rhythm is very propulsive. i love the 1e+ rhythm.

Added stuff to my track, mainly just lengthened the intro and added some glitch noises I made today, they sound like circuit bending... I could consider it done I guess, but yet again there is that saying that "good art is never really finished, you just have to know when to stop." So let me know what you think please!
Also I tried to turn the bass down because when I played it on my friend's system there was enough bass, but not enough music......

I remember when I saw bassnectar and the glitch mob in San Fransisco on New Years Eve on this system with so much bass that I couldn't hear what song was playing... that's when I said that dubstep (glitch mob isn't really dubstep) CAN have too much bass.

Still very much works in progress but I only get so much time to work on this stuff since I'm at work most of the time right now. These are 2 of my first attempts at dubstep. I was going for more of a subbass sound rather than the more modern wobble heavy stuff.

First one is pretty good, chilling vibes and you brought in a nice 2nd lead at 2.03. Mixing could be better but you just gotta practice that alot I guess..

Imo the second sound wildmad :D really strong bass going there, everything seems to fit well. GJ

For my track I chose the moderns heavy stuff once more, check it out (unmixed and far from finished)

Sorry if i haven't posted any feedback at the people that commented on my track. I went to bed after I posted and then I got up with just enough time to get to work. I'll be getting off work here in about 2 hours or so. Once I get home I can listen to some tracks and post some feedback and respond to any comments made on my posts. I really appreciate it.

@ Reignz - Hey man, nice track firstly. I like that you've obviously tried to keep it as interesting and fresh as possible with the bass and drops. Love the dirty sound to the bass too. I think the track could sound a bit neater. It sounds almost as if some of the LFO's aren't completing the cycle back to the lowest cut off point before the next beat begins, leaving your next LFO cycle to begin from a higher frequency causing a couple of small out of place gritty midbass sounds. I'd say it's important to keep a song that's nice and dynamic like this one as mathmatically accurate as possible. What i mean by that is to have your LFO's spot on in time, perfect fractions of the tempo of your track. To improve this bass track without having to re-automate or whatever you can try exporting your bass to a single track, then any little bits you find that sound out replace with silence and fade back in or out. That might help the bass follow the accents of the drums a bit more precisely. I know that seems like alotta feedback but i struggled a bit to type something read-able ha ha ha. Honestly man, nice tune and sweet style. Keep it up, i've got muh ear out now :D

@Reignz: I liked your track. Or at least what I heard of it. I got to hear a little bit of it before my windows auto-update kicked in and restarted my computer. When I tried to finish it Newgroundz had apparently gone down for maintenence so I'll comment a bit more as soon as they go back up. What I heard of it had a very gritty sound on the wobble which I do like. I felt the subbass was sort of weak on my home theater system, but when I switched to my headphones it actually sounded really good. Don't know what that's all about. Thanks for the feedback on my tracks I appreciate it. I don't know anyone that actually listens to dubstep so I really have no where to go to get any real feedback on it. You're right. I do need to work on my mixing. I've only been doing this for a couple months so there's a lot I still need to learn. I'm picking up a little bit here and there so it's kind of a slow process. Not to mention that I'm trying to switch to ableton which is making me pretty much have to relearn a program from scratch which is kind of frustrating.

@Engoldubstep: I liked the Intro. I felt it was a bit longer than it really needed to be, but at the same time I enjoyed it's sound so it didn't feel too repetitive or anything. It really lacks in the low sub frequencies. I think you should definitely layer a sub bass under your wobble and it would make the whole thing sound real nice.

@Donpablo: Nice track. I liked the progression in the intro a lot. I like the flow of it, it's all very on beat which give it a nice "head nodding" type of feel

@Kontigobeat: Thanks for the feedback. The first track I posted, that's really what I was going for. Just something that you'd like to listen to when you're just chilling out and relaxing. Not a real mover. I had a listen to your track and I think it was pretty awesome. Not something you hear a lot of. I loved the trippy 8bit type sounds with the spacey atmosphere pads.

@Static_cast: i liked the 808 sound you got in that track. I feel the 808's are really outplayed but if it's done right they can still give a track a really nice feel. I also like that you tried to do different things with the other synths so the 808 rhythm didn't get too repetitive. It sucks the 808 got raped by hip-hop cause it would have fit so well with this style of music. Now no one wants to touch it cause it's so overused in today's music.

dr bio - that was a cheeky intro i thought i wasnt guna like it but then it came in and i was hooked, keep that up

astral - the whole piano and sub business is really nice, however i wasnt sure about the bit a 1.15 kinda lost its feet i thought.

2bos - what an unusual track, its got bags of potential i can see it being a real mellow tune well done.

futurist - it definatly going somewhere man it needs a proper right hook on it, stick to it.
