trust me, people are hearing this outside of the dubstep world..and nobody else will know that this was originally already a track on its own if they don't listen to dubstep...therefore the "wild animals" promotion comes into play

also chances of making it on his album

nothing new, nothing creative, shit and promotion/marketing

Seriously..the only reason it's hyped up is because it's snoop dogg...so?

I've heard everything from rap to pop on dubstep tracks, some good and some bad

some amazing and some shitty (perfect example is right here)
the fact that he recorded over this beat exclusively FOR this beat doesn't really matter

hyped by fame, nothing else

lol, that first verse is fire.

then a career recap...

dont hate.

the best part, is yo, its chase & status' beat, & um snoop dog is a rapper, and like, thats what musicians do, you know, work together... its THEIR music..

"dubstep" is not a thing. the music & people are. and if "dubstep" isnt "cool" just move on to the next big trend before its big, you will eventually anyways so you might as well dip now so you can be super cool ahead no? lol...

Done know.

Whatever though, ennit. People have hit the nail on the head, Joker would have been the guy I would have chosen but Snoop was obviously feeling Eastern Jam.

Looking forward to Snoop coming over to London and making it rain in DMZ, trust.

you missed the point as well.

of course most people don't want the scene to go mainstream, it will be flooded with nothing but bullshit like everything else

I don't want to see nothing but soulja boys in dubstep trying to make some money, I want to see real musicians like there are now, regardless of whether it's good or bad music..they are making it and listening to it because they love it
I would rather go with a shitty producer who truely loves what he's doing than some guy who makes some hot sounds but is in it solely for money and is whoring himself out

no dubstep won't die if it gets more mainstream, no I won't move on to the next hip thing unless it truely sounds good, I love dubstep and I've been hooked from day 1 when I heard a dubstep track.

I'd just rather NOT put up with all of the bullshit rushing into the scene, who would want to?

marketing, promotion, marketing, marketing, money, dead artist, money, bullshit

end of story
EDIT:
at the end of the day, musical taste is nothing but an opinion

I hate clownstep, i hate hardstyle, i like some house music, i like some hip hop and some rock, i love dubstep and I hate this piece of shit track

it's opinion..i'm not going to bash somebody for liking a certain type of music if they TRUELY love it...that's their taste..there is no legitimate argument because it's based on opinions and not facts

but if somebody is in it just for the "scene" and because it's the "cool thing to do" then I am going to bash them because it's fake and bullshit.

this track is bullshit, there is nothing behind this beyond what I stated above, don't try to tell me there is

if somebody truely loved dubstep and decided to rap over it though, for love of the music and not money or other bullshit awesome, but this is not the case and I think that is why so many people are getting pissed off.

nuff respect for playing and discussing the tune on your show today plastician, totally necessary. as to the pure haterade in this thread, it's really f'd up. this may be the biggest thing that's happened to dubstep since i've been listening to it (about two years). this tune is totally different than the other "mainstream" dubstep artist, burial, and will bring a totally new crew. it is HUGE for the scene. to accuse people of moneygrubbing is just perverse.

if you do something you love, and it makes you money, so be it. if it doesn't you still do it because you love it. i don't think anyone is trying to become a millionaire here, as i think chase & status are doing pretty well for themselves and snoop is surely ok. dunno about plastician's finances but i doubt he's going to set up a collaboration just to enhance his checkbook.

anyway, MOVE ON - the tune is out, it exists, it will get hype, and it will bring more people and more influences into the scene. THIS IS WHY I LOVE DUBSTEP - because it comes from so many different angles. this is a new angle, and makes me love it more.

um- underground hiphop in the face of arguably the most commercial genre that exists? early jungle & drum'n'bass and then a thriving dnb scene? gorgeous electronica hiding behind the daft punk's and paul oakenfolds?

having mainstream people in a genre does nothing but hype it more and create some waste in the process. choose to see the quality and not the waste. been done for plenty of genres so far - dubstep is hardly different.

you missed a line.

what's wrong with burial?

how is this tune totally different? because it has some shit vocals over it that just happen to be by a famous rapper? were you saying it was totally different and amazing when eastern jam came out by itself? because that's all that this is.

how do you think you heard about dubstep to begin with?

because the artists who created the sounds put effort into marketing, promotion, marketing & marketing with their money and LIVE artists who deserve money.

the "bullshit" has already DONE BEEN rushed the "scene", i dunno wtf scene youve been a part of... but whatever, every "scene" is bullshit to begin with anyways.

what exactly do you mean when you say "a bunch of soulja boys"?

i hate to read into things that arent there, but im hearing code words..

nah man, i havent missed the point at all... there are mad other fish to fry when it comes to music (dubstep even) exploitation for profit, this is actually a dope collab.

i think everyone's getting their panties in a bunch over 1 tune.... especially if this is just the beginning of collabs like these. fuck..... can you imagine seeing a video for this on MTV in the states? that would be fucking sick!

i really respect Snoop a ton for this, this is pretty monumental... regardless if you like the tune or not. he's promoting dubstep in a huge way by stating what it is & who did the tune, that doesn't happen very often in hip-hop/rap unless usually it's by a big producer.

then if you could show us all how its done, why didn't you write Eastern Jam originally? you would have been doing the collab with Snoop, not Chase & Status.

dont you see snoops genius of writing snoop dog millionare to eastern jam tho?

i thought it was weird at first, but then it made total sense.. even puts the whole song into context, a context it didnt have before (it was a bit gimmicky)...

dude is a culture hacker.

im actually now feeling like he just made this song even better, and this one may be really big now lol... nice one.

.......no.

How did I hear about dubstep? From a friend actually. Swing and a miss on that one.

soulja boys?what do you think it means

this isn't the first time hip hop has been on dubstep, i'll say that once again

only reason its hyped is because snoop has fame, cool. awesome.

i believe many people could strike up a better track with hip hop vocals on top on these forums, one of those people being yong. Hell, I could do that.

But what will that receive? 10-20 replies at most probably, a few downloads and it'll die down..regardless of how good it is

what does a famous person rapping over a dubstep track get?

I think it's obvious

that track is shit and all fucked, mixed horribly as well
my guess is that's where the "wild animals" and the "hustle boyz" came in right?
shoulda recorded 2-3 verses, chorus the beat itself,4-5 min track, let chase & status mix it all down

I would probably actually like that track. Should have accredited the right heads as well, then I'd give the man some props.

Did he do any of that or attempt to?

No.

uhh...not so much in dubstep. Sorry. Most of the tracks I listen to are actually made by people around the forums and some other dudes I find. Tracks that I search long and hard for.

Sorry but I don't think somebody out of a bedroom setup is putting thousands of dollars to promote their track that 20 people or so in total will download.
