I went to man city and they didnt look very good.

Can't believe theyre still playing lescott at the back plus they kept doing that thing where they tried to pass through the middle even when they had navas running up and down out wide (he looks like he can run fast but can't actually cross tho tbh).

Ozil for 45m seems a hell of a lot and not really what Arsenal need. It may actually be an interesting day transfer wide, hopefully Jim White combusts

I don't think we're gonna get anyone.. which is a mistake, but it looked like it was the Real trio or nothing. Wenger's determined not to spunk all his cash on wasted talent... imagine if we'd just spent £100m only to lose to our stagnant closest rivals. That'd be unimaginably awful.

Yeah I get that but there's been a few windows where Arsenal have made noises about having money to spend and not spent, the fans didn't seem too impressed against Villa. That said it's going to be a mistake to write Arsenal off and Wenger knows how to get the job done, the job to be done needs to go beyond finishing in the top 4 though and you now have the finances in place to push on from that.

great atmosphere at emirates yesterday - huge win. good value for it too, should have been by more. Giroud was amazing, his touch was quality, brought down/ headed on so many balls in the air.
Deal agreed for Ozil, but struggling to convince him personally - real shame, i hope we can persuade him. get on the phone podolski and work some german charm!

Yep absolutely, really need to be challenging for silverware and I can't see the current squad doing that. Come December, Wenger will be struggling to field 11 top-flight players.

Yeah, I don't think Ozil's gonna happen. None of the Real targets seem that enamoured with the idea of playing at the Emirates tbh. Fuck 'em.

Was feeling bare jels of your season ticket yesterday... :Q:

Mags, i saw that too on the Guardian blog....theres overwhelming message of Ozil ot Arsenal now....

David Hytner ‏@DaveHytner (guardian) 13m
Ozil. Arsenal. £46m. Get excited.

Also bookies have suspended betting.

£46 mil, yeah thats a lot, but worth it? I think so - appeases fans, 'super' quality wenger is looking for, a real world-class player, only 24. We pretty much pay his wages from the dead-wood salaries we have shifted this year + years of being frugal means we can afford to splash out. With 10m we have received this window that means he's only a £35m outlay - bargain if you ask me!!!!!!!!!!!

The pressure on him is going to be immense, he really needs a good start with that kind of price tag

He needs to do what he did for us but isn't going to have the bollocks to do it, at least in the first season. I don't see any charging runs from his own half or 30 yard free kicks.

Ozil is going to be one to watch, think 45mil is slightly on the panic-buy side.
