Yeah, I don't think we get those, have lived from coast to coast, but not so much in between, but never seen anything quite like that.

Are they conkers though?
Looks almost like Datura to me.

On a side note, up till now I did not realize that Datura and moonflowers were the same thing.
That is not a fun trip by any means.

Not lychee.
It's Durian you're thinking of.

What do you mean?
For centuries, Datura stramonium has been used as a mystical sacrament which brings about powerful visions (lasting for days) and opens the user to communication with spirit world.

The ancient inhabitants of what is today central and southern California used to ingest the small black seeds of datura to "commune with deities through visions". Across the Americas, other indigenous peoples such as the Algonquin, Cherokee, Marie Galente and Luiseño also utilized this plant in sacred ceremonies for its hallucinogenic properties. In Ethiopia, some students and debtrawoch (lay priests), use D. stramonium to "open the mind" to be more receptive to learning, and creative and imaginative thinking.

The common name "datura" has its roots in ancient India, where the plant is considered particularly sacred—believed to be a favorite of the Hindu god Shiva Nataraja.

That is what I was thinking, but then I think she was aiming for the puss. Which probably would be worse, wouldn't it.

How heavy are those things, are they light, or do they have penetration mass.

Apparently conkers are called buckeyes in the States. The tree isn't native to Britain either... I think it was brought over from Eastern Europe, but I'd be surprised if we didn't take it to America too.

We call them conkers because they replaced conch shells that were used for essentially the same game called "Conquerers".

I haven't had to use any of these facts since my age has been in double digits. 8)
