Re: the techno thread
I'd say: Ben Sims, Function, Regis, Joey Beltram, James Ruskin, Tommy Four Seven, Marcel Dettman, Planetary Assault Systems.
Just get some podcasts like CLR and Drumcode and take from that what you like. If it's all too dark/fast you might
want to look into dub techno, minimal or progressive.

That last one is actually produced by Artwork, which some people may or may not find interesting to know.

Re: the techno thread
REAL TECHNO !!!!!!!!!!!!!

In this coarse, compromised world that we inhabit, it’s debatable whether any artist is deserving of hero worship. But Regis is a special case.
A consummate producer, label-owner and provocateur, Regis – real name Karl O’Connor – has been one of the most respected names in techno for nigh on 18 years, staying true to his muse and diluting his art for no one. His career, still fruitful after all these years, is a totem and a tower against which all others must be measured.
Ladies and gentlemen, we give you one of the UK’s most inspiring, intelligent and eternally relevant techno artists: hail, Regis: blood into gold

I know there's been some listed, but would anyone be kind enough to list me some Dub-techno to check out? think i'm more after the immersive abstract soundscapey stuff as apposed to roots'y dub but either is cool.
also, any artists similar to Surgeon ,2562/a made up sound would be nice too.
Youtubes would be nice, but even just a list of names that come to mind to check out would be much appreciated

Re: the techno thread
Surgeon and 2562 are quite different judging from the tunes I've got. Surgeon is either dark heavy techno or really experimental stuff. But if I interpreted the question right you might want to check SCB/Scuba's techno bits.d-T-r wrote:also, any artists similar to Surgeon ,2562/a made up sound would be nice too.
Here's a tracklist from an SCB set: http://lsdb.nl/set/78588/scb-xlr8r-podc ... 04-11.html
Sigha, Mike Dehnert, Shifted are all at least worthy of checking.

Re: the techno thread
nice one-- cheers for the suggestions waki + fassyman, sounding good so far.
and yeah AxeD, i know surgeon and 2562 are completely different but they both have some nice rolling + deep offbeat sounds though and a fair few tracks that don't always stick to a straight 4x4 beat. Also have some Scuba but will check out that Xlr8 podcast too and the rest you mentioned, cheers
