I understand the budget restrictions thing but one would have thought HBO would have taken 'battle scenes' (and the cost of making them) into consideration when commissioning the show.

I think 'Rome' got cancelled partly because they couldn't afford the extras for the battle scenes. All i'm saying is I hope they don't fuck this up too.

The 'battle' scenes in Rome were awful

So season ends, not much to say about it. A small hint of Arya and the faceless men, Joffrey being a little bitch, Varys knows more about Shae than he's willing to show (and became one of the most likeable characters in the series), Daenerys has basically been gathering armies for the whole season so no thrill, and I honestly can't wait for the rest of the Greyjoys to enter the picture. Rumour has it Mads Mikkelsen might be playing Euron ? Fantastic cast if that's true.

Varys has been one of my favorite characters for ages, you always know he's up to something and he says some pretty profound shit from time to time.

the torturing mostly because he's a sick fuck, but he's keeping him hostage to force Balon/the Ironborns to leave the north because the Boltons have their eyes on it
