erm tbh i think drum and bass is far from dead, if anything i think it is going pretty strong at the moment.

Artists like alix perez, spectrasoul, icicle, proxima, sabre, nympho, data, commix and instra:mental are just a few names that are bringing new stuff constantly, that may be biased because thats what i'm really into at the moment.

But there are more producers than ever banging out tunes, and the fact dnb has gone digital and sells online and around the world means it must be growing. The actual 'scene' feel to dnb is pretty dead at the moment as it has become a bit globalized imo ...
