'Alternative' people aren't really alternative, they are just tattooed and pierced sheep.

After 9000+ discussions I find a certain, so-called "postdubstep" producer, namely James Blake, still overrated and don't understand why so many people like his music.
Not saying he's bad, I like some tunes. But still.

Also the vocals from Mala's Changes and the instrumental of Blake's remix are fucking clashing keys and it sounds horrible.

White (and English) church goers are weird. I can say this, as my parents are some....but, them aside...they're all really odd. Even more so, people that're my age and go to church (of England...can't speak for other religions). It's almost like they're outcasts of society, and they love going to church because thats' the only place they're accepted. It's odd..

(I know this makes me sound like a tw@...but I'm just putting it out there....)
You want to go to a black evangelical church

Since when did happy, well rounded, successful people turn to faith?
They wouldn't have a reason to..
Most people who turn to religion have been through shit, its nice they can feel positive about something

well not really. that's why every country has the gold reserves to back up the notes in circulation, and it's also why economies get into hyper-inflation if they start printing too many notes without the reserves to back it up (ie germany after WW1)

most of the modern world is built on IOUs regarding oil now anyway and not money so most big economies have replaced the gold standard with oil backing up dollars. it's one of the theories of why the US invaded iraq who were planning on trading oil in euros and not dollars which would have had a massive impact on the US economy

Nothing backs up our paper money, where the hell did you hear it was oil? Oil is concentrated heavily in certain regions of the globe, and most developed countries import it.

When money is backed, in order to create notes to put into circulation you need gold/whatever it is. In the modern day, governments (in the U.S. the Fed) can issue any amount of paper notes to be created from thin air. The world is a blank check.

That said, get bitches fuck money

i was of the understanding that originally paper money was redeemable in gold but now (def in the US) the actual wording on the bill has been changed so the dollar bill is now nothing but a bond.

duno bout here... but theres numerous suspicions abou gold...

afaik, we used to work on a gold standard but then the global markets adopted the US dollar as it's standard due to the US having such a strong economy and massive gold reserves... in the current economic climate it appears that a process of decoupling from the US will occur and many countries will go back to the gold standard. HOWEVER, many countries store large chunks of their gold reserves in the US and it's not much of a stretch of the imagination to assume that in this situation the US could simply commandeer all this gold being stored in their country.

I hope this isn't too political to be discussed... it's difficult to tell where the line is these days
