Pietersen.
At least the umpires are being consistent with their calls this test.
Re: SNH cricket thread
Seems a lot of effort to go to to sell tickets to the last couple of tests.
That is what they're doing, right?

Re: SNH cricket thread
There have been some odd decisions throughout the series, it almost seems as if the 3rd umpire is doing everything he can to uphold the on field umpires call.
Very testing time for England now, Australia will be putting their absolute all in to the rest of today to try and force the result. Can't say they don't deserve it.
@magma Tickets are totally sold out I think, maybe not for day 5 but they aren't always guaranteed to have any play

Re: SNH cricket thread
This is all quite weird winning the Ashes in this way.
...that said, I wasn't one of those who wanted Australia to win a test to 'make things more interesting'.

Re: SNH cricket thread
I wouldn't say that I "wanted" Aus to win that test but they definitely deserved to. England were outplayed in every session I reckon.
Can't wait for the next test, I had to go and buy a portable radio to listen on as I'll be at Boomtown for most of the test.

Re: SNH cricket thread
tbh I've lost some interest now
& I wonder if, now that our guys aren't under the gun,
they'll slacken off again & bring you poms down to our abysmal batting level
(might have already happened)
It's commonly thought here that Pieterson's an egomaniacal preening prk,
Swan's an archetypal jumped-up prig,
Root a candidate for most likely to have his buttocks lovingly caned by the house master
and Broad...well, for some reason, he's our least favourite...
but we save our worst opinions for our own
pack of pampered, gutless, skilless, yuppie, English-emulating losers
with notable exceptions Haddin, Harris & Siddle who rep old-school rough-headedness.
It's really not the losing...it's the lack of resolve, of cheek, of humour, of irreverence...
jeez, since when was the Oz reaction to losing:
If you can't beat em, join 'em in being pussies
fuck man
if you can't beat 'em, get pissed & shit in their changeroom lockers
or something...anything to lighten the mood with some disgusting behaviour.
So. Onward & downwards to Ashes#2.

You guys really think that Swann is jumped up??
One of the most down to earth guys in the team I reckon.

Well that may say a lot about our cultural differences.
I find it hard to describe what it is about him that is off-putting.
Unfortunately a lot of our guys now wear the collar up in aristocratic fashion, so that's only a minor part
Maybe it's the pleased-with-himself wankerish air
that may be ubiquitous enough there for you to not notice it;
not quite my-shit-doesn't-stink, more a dandyish hoitytoityiness
& something about his smarm that would have me avoid him.
Just saying...he could well be a nice chap...or trying to be.

Re: SNH cricket thread
Didnt some indian score 230 off 150 balls. ?
Sounds more like theyre playing on the beach rather than a cricket pitch.

Re: SNH cricket thread
says it all: no mention of 4th Ashes Test & our miserable demise.
I went to bed with Warner heading towards a ton & the possibility of us winning on the 4th day
because Broad & Anderson were having off-days...wake up & we've folded again.
Steve Waugh is saying we have to persevere with current batsmen & practise harder.
Personally I'd also like to hear Michael Clarke say something other than the bloody obvious.

Re: SNH cricket thread
yeah wooo 3-0
dont get too downhearted sd5, i reckon ur gonna do us in the return series, i even put some money on it. all the matches have been close except lords and our batting line up is looking very shaky. If it werent for bell we'd be 2-1 down.

Re: SNH cricket thread
just bet a mate 5 pounds that you'd beat us. Your bowling attack is at least as strong as ours, probably stronger seam wise (you probably wont have a load of slow dusty wickets- we'll defo lose at Perth) and there's not much to choose between the batsmen, i reckon you;ll have reason to be cheerful in 6 months
.
Re: SNH cricket thread
Fair play to watson, he must feel great at the moment.
I can't help but feel that Tremlett would have been absolutely destructive in this test, not sure if I agree with the selection of Kerrigan/Woakes

notts 3 down 350 behind and middlesex struggling at derby.
We're going to win the league!

Re: SNH cricket thread
Three ODI losses, two drawn test matches, and one (shaky) T-20 victory. Great tour of Bangladesh for New Zealand.
Bring on Sri Lanka...
Also caught the Windies starting off with a bang and then fizzling out to 234. The Indian openers don't appear troubled at all by the bowling attack either.

Re: SNH cricket thread
New Zealand battling against Bangladesh is not good.
Especially not winning a test.
SA vs Pakistan 3rd ODI starting now.
1-1 at the moment.
