there was some norwegian rap tune where they made fun of the flow and went like
"alle som ikke smugler er tollvesen"
and stuff. Norwegian rap was always great for irony/fun/on point social commentary jokes but maybe a bit lacking in beats/music (I don't know so much though beyond the tunes everyone knew tbf)
swedes are the worst scandos though, blatantly.
gonna laugh at this later i think but no i havent heard it

Re: Swedish hiphop I've always had a soft spot for this one:
Probably doesn't stand up that well these days. I dont think I know any other swedish hip hop artists besides Promoe and Timbuktu. Come to think of it I don't know any norwegian hiphop at all. Was there ever a border hopping norwegian hit i missed?

Re: Post Your Random Thoughts Thread!
haha, cool you know them.
Ive met one of the dudes in that, Don Martin, a couple times. When I was 13 me and a mate went to "hip hop flea market" to buy New Era caps and tapes and shit, and he was there selling stuff. We knew he they hated george bush so we asked him about it and he said "yeah everything that could go wrong went wrong init".
everyone in norway knows them somehow, even if you didnt listen to rap, cus they were always on the radio debating ppl iirc lol
ive got a mixtape on CD of them i still havent listened to actually

Re: Post Your Random Thoughts Thread!
aight I'll stop chatting about this now
but this is prolly the best norwegian popular rap song, actually tight as fuck flow and lyric, which is tbh very rare in norway. Felt mad real and dark for a tune that was actually on TV and radio all the time. Benefit of not having any type of swearing rules on the radio.
people used to sincerely quote this shit.

Re: Post Your Random Thoughts Thread!
There was a legitimate hiphop group called malk de koyn that where as good as their heroes on their first record tbh - with absolutely amazing nonsensical lyrics that almost justified 'danish rap' as a thing for a moment. Think redman lyrics + early madlib beats.Harkat wrote:reese and hubb what did people listen to in denmark anyway?
And there was this scenario at roskilde festival where a guy called bobbito the barber whos this ny golden era dj, would curate a stage, which meant people like company flow, black star, jay5, kardinal offishil, mad skills, necro, non phixion, the roots, dilated and people like that broke through quite early on and we got to see them before they became bigger.
I guess it means backpacker stuff ugh, has always had an easier time.
Culturally there's always been a lot of deejays, graffwriters and breakers from northern europe. Its the thing where it becomes rap that imo is an american thing.
(Like on the reverse - graff writers from the states have sucked since the eighties and in that sense 'hiphop' is imo a world phenomen - - alot of oldschool djs would say the same- like most of their comps go down in switzerland or germany).
