ohhh wtf dude
who was it? did u know him? ;/
just some random guy in the street who asked me and my friends for a cigarette, began talking with him as he seemed nice, then I realized pretty clearly he was going for the classic stealing method (shaking hands, using feet to twist you a bit and getting things out of your bag, which you don't realize as they seem friendly), so I tried to counter it and it seemed to work well as he got away and my bag was only half open with things untouched inside. not a big deal but kind of killed the vibe
and where were u?
it all happened HERE

Think I saw something like that earlier, there was a man sitting on the back of a platform bench on the subway, and on the seat behind him there was a bag.
There was another man sitting behind him on the bench's arm-rest, doing what seemed like massaging the backpack. I didn't see him take anything, but he, the second man, got up and left the bag behind.

Riddles, why don't you just order a pair from the US site? I've never once had to pay customs fees on stuff from outside the country (even stuff that's been quite expensive), and even so, it should still be cheaper inc. delivery.

I think you only pay custom fees if you get a couple bits within a short period of time. You probably get a monthly limit. I got a jacket from US and had to get another one sent out cause large in US size is a fucking 8 man tent. I got charged custom fees for the 2nd one not the first.

looked into it:
£15.01 to £135 No customs duty, Import VAT due
so £89 + 20% = £106 + shipping. Probably gonna be cheaper than buying in the UK I think

Ive had too a few times, you have to pay both customs and a royal mail fee that comes to almost an extra £20
If they send it dhl or something I guess you avoid the extra charge

In all honesty, I suspect my postman just couldn't be arsed.
Even when I've gone to collect stuff from the sorting office before, he's sort of just looked at the label and ignored it.
Seems like a 50/50 split in here Riddles man, hope you get lucky and don't have to pay any fees.

On the subject and this thread, the sorting office doesn't accept card payments, what kind of 20th century bullshit is this?

cheers for the help, but I just realised a mate of mine flys between the US and UK all the time cos he's one of those start up entrepreneurial wankers. I'll just send em to him and he can bring em in for me

haha that's long. It's getting to a stage these days where if a place doesnt have contactless payments on their card machines i get pissed off.
