@johnny66 siiick, fat drop, I really like the sounddesign you did in this tune, needs a lot of mixing though, eqing unnecessary frequencies out mainly
@dmtsbreakz I like the arps. this track instantly made pictures show up in my head, nice progressions, could be music of a film - really good work
@gaol don't know what problems you mean, the subs are pretty nice and heavy

short clip of what I made today, not sure about the wobbles

Gaol
Woah, I think that sub is too loud ha! Maybe needs a touch of grit/character but with a few tweaks it'll sound aces.

rootdigga
Im not a fan of the wobbles, with everything else going on they seem a little muddy. Try something with some more top end character and make sure everything has space EQ wise.

Johnny666
Really like this, a bit messy I think but i'd really be interested to hear your workflow when processing your basses. The snare sounds great but it think maybe some saturation at like 5k plus would help it snap through the mix a tad more.

Acro
The choppy skrillex style vocals are sweet but need to be brought out a little more, probs just needs a high shelf and a low cut to give it space in the mix. I think the kick is a little boomy too. Bring your hats up after the drop. Its weird, the drop doesn't seem to fit the intro but both parts work well.

-boring
really loving your bass!

MrAural
All the elements are there but it feels a little dry or maybe just a tad bare but its coming on real nice

Blenky119
The intro is a little bare, some subtle pads / arps would help a lot.

1stfiest
Big ups! Really feeling this. One thing that stood out was that you've got stuff panned really nicely.

Ok.. here's the latest version of what i last posted. Please be as picky as you possibly can because I am aiming to make this the best tune i've personally worked on...

@Burgeamon : That's raw mate. Your synth have to much hi end, your hats diseapered. Your drums are'nt punchy as it deserves sadly, time to EQ ! :p

@Rootdiga : I don't like this woble, but the piano is great... Try to make this wip deeper, and add some events to keep your listener attention.

@gaol : Ouch, this sub is big yes, but too big in my taste. You want to make something chill I guess, don't kill the overall with an overpowered sub like this. One more thing, tambourine doesn't fit to me, add some real hats or shakers with a killer groove.

Here's mine now, really raw WIP, don't consider the intro, I made it in 2 minutes just for the preview. Soundcloud

@Darj - the effect at 0:17 nice but everything after that leading into the drop is a little empty. after the drop, things sound real good. try introducing something new at 1:30

@Burgeamon - your hats are overpowering at first then disappear behind the synth. some killer sounds already though! just do some solid mixing, and maybe bump it up a few bpm.

@rootdigga - your wobbles arent bad, but i think they should be used sparingly in your eventual track. dont include them in your intro and dont have them fighting for space with your vocals. develop that idea man its a good one!

@Gaol - I love your percussion. your subbass is a bit heavy, and the song needs to develop beyond just percussion and bass at some point. still, great start!

This is a very rough development of an idea i had while playin guitar real quick. Im really stumped on where to take this next, and if its even worth it to continue. honest advice appreciated!

@Th3Reindeer: Arpeggios are sexy, very nice. The melody is cool, the whole thing just feels like it's missing something like someone singing over it, sounds like the beginning of a pop song haha. (Not that there's anything wrong with that)

@rootdigga: I really dig this, I wish there were more vocals though, like not so repetitive, but a whole verse. Something that strikes me as needed is some percussion with maybe a light reverb, sort of shuffling everything along.

@Darj: The backgrounds are where everything lives in this, I love it, nothing wrong with it in my opinion besides that the whole thing is too regimented to my tastes. (But that's just taste)

Here's mine, started as a joke sort of. Soundcloud

@Darj Really like the track, got some very chill vibes to it.

@Th3Reindeer As for where you should take the track next i have no idea... but I think if it was mixed a little better it'd be a very catchy tune.

@Burgeamon I can't do any better. That was just amazing. Period. master it so it comes out a little louder... and whats with the 3 and a half minutes of silence after?

Sorry, but I agree with others in another thread, it's not that good. It's just a minute and a half's worth of bass and glitch-hop drums, be unique. Make your own bass, don't base it off people like Koan Sound. You're probably a Skrillex/Excision fanboy. They got somewhere being unique, also where are the hats?

@rootdigga- nice vocals man, they sound sick also the dub/ska-ish stabs. maybe some reverb or something your wobbles to add something to them, so they dont end so abruptly? just a suggestion, try it see what its like.
@blenky119 nice chords, generally a nice track man got some nice atmosphere going on, a few of the chords sound a little strange but that personal opinion, and its obviously a work in progress. nice though
@Mraural, despite your seemingly, insensitive/rude nature, your track was actually quite good i liked it.

good enough for you now?

I saw this message and it made me realise I uploaded the wrong fucking wav! I've been playing with parallel compression and parallel saturation but I left ALL of the returns on which means that 5k + has been saturated and compressed twice, this has totally drowned out the top end of the mix so once the reece sounds kick in its over-processed to the max! Will re-upload later.

The hats have disappeared as explained above. As for the rest of your comments, I'm no Skrillex fan boy (I'm not hater either) and take a lot of influence from peeps like Dillon Francis, Alvin Risk, Porter Robinson etc... And the reason I'm playing with a 'Koan Sound' type style is that they are local to me and are friends of a friend. My friend got to get in the studio with them a couple of weeks ago and passed on some of their tips regarding bass processing so I thought I'd give it a go. I'm still learning a lot about production and sometimes its a lot easier to have an end goal to aim for (ie.make a reese type bass with some nice EQ/Flange automation) than to sit there with a blank canvas and start from scratch. I've already got some good ideas about how certain techniques I've picked up could translate to different bass sounds and even other effects etc...

OK time to do it properly -
@jayboss i really love the beginning and imma let u finish, just things you could try to do to make it sound better, IMHOMO
U see at about 0:32 to 0:34 i hear that nasty shit with heavy reverb (short delay on it) nahnahnah or smth. Sounds cool, but it doesn't have a tail!!! Just add some delay just on intro bit or just add some other reverb with longer tail. Just sayin. After drop things start to loop over and over, so can't say anything about it. Good luck

@Reliq ur stuff is good, I like it, sounds professional. But what is wrong with 0:30 as vocal just disappears. From 0:40... Cool part just them fucking bells are too load and have too much top end... Don't like that vocal just disappears, use some filter or modulate. And after 2:30... What the hell? That pffft pfft pfft out of sync sound just doesn't sound good ;/ Anyways best of luck with this one

@Th3Reindeer Like the melody and warmth.. But u have to work on your kick (over compressed or wtf, but i can hear buzzing , distortion on it..Same goes for sub line later. )

@Gaol - The sub needs to go down in volume quite a bit i reckon. The snare sounds nice, got a ncie crisp sound and the reverb you got on the kick and snare together gives the snare a bit of atmosphere too i like it. The bongos that come in aswell are really nice and keep the tune rolling, i like this mate :)

@Bergeamon - I dont really know much about this style of dubstep but it soudns nice man, the bass cuts through nicely and that like lead part is nice too. I think maybe your kick could be compressed or something a bit mroe just to give it more punch or something, or just turn everything else around it down a bit? I dunno haha but it could be louder.

@Darj - Yeah i love your tunes haha so couldnt resist commenting on this one, i love that like reese kind of sound you have on top of the sub it gves the lower end of the tune definition and works nicely. The drums sounds nice aswell and arent too repetetive. I like the hats aswell but i reckon maybe give them a bit more brightness or something cos they sound a bit dull at the minute but apart fomr that nice tune man :)

This is my tune now, literally started it today so it soudns rough aha

@AirFee
Nice start there. I like the keys texture and the chords you're using. The bass patch is nice too, maybe a little to much harmonic excitement in the top end of it though, try low passing it a little to make it more subby. Also work a lot on variation and finding some call and response for the keys and bring in some different elements.

@jayboss
I really like the dark vibes you got going on here. I think it needs a lot more variation though.

@Crosano
Sick mashup! sounds really full and I'm completely loving the bass patches! not much I can say about this because the sound design and everything is beyond my level lol. Epic work man, keep it up!

Ok, so here's my latest work, made it over the last week, the end still needs finishing properly, I just sort of threw on the outro so ignore that for now. Everything else is done though, apart from mastering, I feel like the mix is almost finished, it's just the drums seem like they just don't sit quite right in the mix at certain points, and it feels quite muddy in places. Saying all that though, it's definitely the best tune I've made so far, by a long way! So give it a listen and tell me what you think ;-)

@AirFee Thanks for the advice. Damn that's some dirty bass. In a really awesome good way. I love those slow wobbles. It's actually not too rough to me but I'm on some shitty headphones still. I love the echo noise that you use. I like the intro a lot too. I like how the dirty wobble comes in nice and slow and then just BOOM!

@The3Reindeer Wow yes please continue this. I love it already. It is missing something but I cant really put my finger on what. But please continue.

@Turnipish Thoughts It's a really good track. That snare is cool and fits the song really well. there is something a little weird about the kick. I feel it needs more punch. Seems a bit too airy. I'mm not sure how to explain it. And i absolutely love the quiet part from 2:45 to 3:30 and the build up after is so sick.

So this is just an update. I changed the arrangement a little. Oh yea and turned the sub down haha but it still might be loud because it seams louder to me on soundcloud than when i was making it. I'm working with shitty headphones. I want to add another sound in the higher register but I just cant find the right sound right now.
