Don't see anything wrong with getting signed records tbh. Why does fame make it any more special? Can't imagine why you'd want a record in the first place if you didn't like it or the artist who made it.

I disagree, I guess it depends on how much you value the person behind the music though. And I wouldn't buy a signed record so that I could sell it either tbh.

How would you feel if whoever made your favourite music died?

well nujabes already died so i can tell u i was pretty wounded
but i didnt worship him as an idol. i appreciated his music b2b got me through a really shit time in life b2b i felt terrible for his family because he was so young. if u rly connect with someones music like that its like u have a connection with the person themselves too (which as a musica fan, u probs already know urself)

Getting a signature isn't treating someone as an idol though. I mean yeah, I'm not about to ask someone for a signature, but if they're selling signed copies I wouldn't avoid getting one either. Would be pretty bummed if I'd missed it tbh.
Don't think it elevates anymore than getting the record in the first place tbh. A signature is free, when you buy something you're basically saying "you deserve my, potentially hard earned, money more than I do".

I think a signature also provides a certain human connection with the physical release.

I've actually been asked for my signature before when people have bought my band's album, it's happened quite a few times now but it's still very surreal when it happens
