It's dying in America already (brostep that is). Electrohouse takeover. Fuck it, just waiting and praying for a jungle revival or something.

it will never die.

it might dissapear from the limelight, but there will always be people that will push the sound.

it's a matter of fans broadening their tastes and promoters encouraging diversity as new influences come in while remaining true to the original dubstep aesthetic: bass, space and swing.

pretty much this

dubstep to me will always be the sound of 2003ish-2007ish... dont get me wrong, the stuff after that is still brilliant, and there's still innovate stuff being made, but it's just different (and not in a bad way).

the original aesthetic and mindset still drives the scene though

Dubstep is nowhere near death. It's just started appealing to younger and younger people, which in reality, is where the money is at. Brostep is still as strong as ever, but artists got pversaturated and now have to compete for spots. Everything is working out just fine

Dubstep is no where near dead. So many interesting sounds and so much variety still being produced! You have jazzier stuff like Silkie and Author, you have dungeon stuff, Rama's juke influenced sound (the whole Swamp crew for that matter), Deep Medi....there's plenty of great stuff. Dubstep isn't going anywhere, it's just evolving. :)

In response to the whole freedom of speech thing, kind of off topic but a funny story -

My teacher was teaching my class about political philosophies, and we were learning about John Locke and the whole idea of a state of nature, so one day she just purposefully doesn't come into class - we had an 80 minute long block with no teacher - wasn't much of a state of nature though tbh, the worst thing that happened was that I broke the teacher's chair by rolling around on it
