Islam can be a beautiful thing but they (the Nation of Islam) lost my support in this film as soon as they said "all white people are devils". Still, a very interesting and powerful movie. Stellar performances from Denz and Bassett. But the score, oh my goodness the score, was so, so bad. It was extremely twee in places which, I felt detracted from the message of the film.
An important watch for anyone interested in 20th century race relations in America, civil rights, Islam/Nation of Islam (I must point out a distinction between the two) or if you just want a greater insight into what a lot of 90's rappers were going on about.
(Notable samples- Tupac - Hold Ya Head, Tupac - White Man's World, Hazard - Use Your Brain)

One of the best soundtracks. Joe Hisaishi is a god among mortals.

Remember when Mexter Dorgan came out and there was that stupidly aggy video for it on Youtube? Well, it was clips from this film.

Just a ton of unnecessary gore and no L-Wiz.
3/10
(I'm not doing well with French horror movies atm)

Really?!? I thought it was absolute gash. The three points I gave it was two for the main girl coz she's pretty and one coz i'm interested in language and enjoyed the French. Can't understand it getting such high praise but hey, people have different opinions ay.

Despite it being a dead corny love story I really enjoyed it. Especially liked the way there was no guns, tits and explosions - made a change from the usual. It was a welcome change!

Can't believe this movie is ten years old.. the CG was well ahead of it's time, even better than some movies coming out today.

imagine meeting the guy that murdered your relatives or chopped off your legs.. this is kind of a surreal movie about a mass murdering war lord who nationally admits to killing 20,000 Liberians. He then goes around the country asking the victims for forgiveness. Pretty heart wrenching stuff.

Good enough film. Tom Hardy was great in it, no wonder he got cast as the new Bane.

Pretty bad tbh. Easily the weakest of the Grindhouse series so far.

With you on that. Was in to it up until about 2/3 of the way through, then it let itself down.
Watched "Devil" recently. So shit it was good!
And "Trigger Happy TV" best of series 1 & 2. Way shitter than I remember it. Dom Joly really is quite talentless. 5% of it is fucking funny though.
"Limitless". Not bad. Again, started out pretty good and got progressively shitter.
"Watchmen". Meh.

Would have enjoyed it a lot more if I hadn't guessed the twist within the first 30seconds of the film. When he comments he can't find his cigarettes - guessed it there. Fucking diabolical.
