Islam can be a beautiful thing but they (the Nation of Islam) lost my support in this film as soon as they said "all white people are devils". Still, a very interesting and powerful movie. Stellar performances from Denz and Bassett. But the score, oh my goodness the score, was so, so bad. It was extremely twee in places which, I felt detracted from the message of the film.
An important watch for anyone interested in 20th century race relations in America, civil rights, Islam/Nation of Islam (I must point out a distinction between the two) or if you just want a greater insight into what a lot of 90's rappers were going on about.
