yup. if you sleep more than recommended, you'll feel all weak, lazy and more tired. you shouldn't get more then 8hrs. The human bodys suppose to sleep for approx 6-8.JTL wrote:Does that effect it then? Im sleeping just over 8 hours I reckon. This, and everyone has an approximate sleep cycle of 1.5 hours, and to wake up during one will make you feel more tired as well. Meaning once you figure out what your's is set at, you should sleep in multiples of it. 1.5 hrs, 3.0 hrs, 4.5 hrs, 6.0 hrs, 7.5 hrs, etc... Try sleeping for 6 hours one week and see how you feel, then try 7, then 8... you should be able to gauge it from there.drksteppa wrote:yup. if you sleep more than recommended, you'll feel all weak, lazy and more tired. you shouldn't get more then 8hrs. It also takes the human body about 20min to enter your first deep REM cycle, which is why a 25min nap can make you feel less rested than a 15 min nap - interrupting your REM makes you wake up more tired and more disoriented.
yeah!
There's a lot of evidence out now that the old concept of everyone needing 8 hours sleep a night isn't really valid. I tend to sleep about 4 hours or so at night but then have power naps throughout the day and feel a lot better and get a lot more done now then when i used to sleep all night.

i dont strictly follow it as described there because my life doesnt have that much routine.. but since i've adopted this sort of strategy, I feel a lot more alert. It's definitely worth experimenting for a month or so and seeing what works for you.

hahahaha, fair enough, you know what i meant really though eh
and yeah i figure doing it now while i'm still young is better and it will probably be easier to do, i'm not all that concerned with living to be 70 + or whatever but i'm sick of waking up with a far worse hangover cos of smoking, and of reeking of baccy all the time
anyway will see how it goes, i still fucking love a cigarette but so far this seems to be quite a nice substitute
