errr i mean, the less old bangs & works from planet mu is really good. didnt realize it had been out for so long. just arrived today for me. must have been held up with a pre-order from a while back or something. its gotten to the point now where i dont even remember ordering certain records, they just arrive on my doorstep and catch me by surprise after work

a couple of years ago back in sweden, before i knew anything about anything i bought this:
http://www.discogs.com/Icicle-Switch-Ar ... se/1255603
because i thought that it was a different "Switch". it sounded way too fast at 45 so i just thought it was a weird 127 breakbeat track. took me a bit to realize it was drum&bass. i actually prefer both sides at 33 now

Footwork is all about making people move their feet, make them wild out and get into the dance. completely different from what Dubstep is which is all about deep vibes, not much for dancing, too slow, much more for feeling the bass. I think that's the reason why Footwork isn't really taking off like it should in the EDM scene, it's a fact we are not the best dancers, moving like that would be a challenge let alone enjoy it ;-)

But to answer the question yes im feeling juke / footwork. i don't like calling it Juke however dunno why. Anyone heard that new Hot N Heavy release 'Bay Area Bass Vol. 3'? i swear some great Footwork tracks in that compilation. Reilly Steel - Taste My, that's my fav in there, kinda slow Footwork track actually..

Except dubstep is totally danceable and this 'footwork' stuff sounds so poorly produced id either laugh or go for a piss if it got played live.

i never said it wasn't danceable, i said it's not much for dancing, it really isn't, you're in denial if you think otherwise. trust if i played footwork and dubstep anywhere in the world people would move more to footwork. Besides what they do in terms of moving is far more of a "dance" than the shoegazing that the dubsteppers do.

As far as production, I used to think the same thing about Dubstep. First time i heard Digital Mystikz i laughed at the production. sounded like a 10 year old made it, but i learned that's just their sound. Footwork is not badly produced, that's just how the sound is, if it changed it wouldn't be Footwork.

full mixtape of the 'Juke Box' up here: http://dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=241303 side A & B....

...and yeah, the juke sound should be rough around the edges - does not mean it is poorly produced.

I can understand that. When i first heard Dubstep around 2004-05 i thought exactly the same, to me the majority of it sounded lazy and ammature in production, stuff you write when you first start producing. I think it was because i was listening to really polished music all the time but now i can appreciate the simplicity and beauty of it but back then i didn't.
