Compa blocked me from his Facebook page cos I asked him why he deleted a taco-related comment on there
Dude used to send us demos for Dubliminal but I wasn't really feeling them. When I asked for some stuff I was actually feeling he ignored me totally. Only heard from him again (another year or two later) when he learned I have a Mala dubplate which he desperately wants, wanting to know how I got it

Tbf, sounds to me like he sent some tunes over, Dubliminal said no, so he just didn't bother again. Ain't that big a crime.
Re: Producer called Compa
way i read it was he kept sending stuff then ignored them when they finally said they liked some of itgarethom wrote:Marcus wrote:Sounds like a nob mainly trying to help himself out and not others.£10 Bag wrote: Dude used to send us demos for Dubliminal but I wasn't really feeling them. Nowhere near as many as in dubstep though as far as I'm aware. Looking at the likes of Tectonic/Deep Medi/Tempa.. no grime label comes even remotely close, only ones that do stopped releasing a long time ago.dididub wrote:loads of vinyl releases munceyMuncey wrote:Shame about the lack of vinyl releases though. Which producers that have been around longer than 2 years still release vinyl bar Spooky/Terror Danjah? Its all hashtags and fancy videos with an iTunes release nowadays.

I didn't say it's a crime, just that he's a wally. We don't sign people unless we know them personally or have mutual love for eachother's music. Some of the beats were OK (included the bits Boka signed) but nothing special IMO.garethom wrote:Tbf, sounds to me like he sent some tunes over, Dubliminal said no, so he just didn't bother again. FWIW I wasn't asking to sign bits from him, just wanted a couple of tracks to cut.
I just find it funny how deep he licks Mala's bum and runs his overly-humble Mala-esque persona through social media. Except not even Mala deletes amusing comments off his Facebook page (as far as I know)

Wasn't on about you man, was more on about people calling him a knob, etc. Bit far.£10 Bag wrote:I didn't say it's a crime, just that he's a wally. Alright we get you don't like big narstieMuncey wrote: Nowhere near as many as in dubstep though as far as I'm aware. Looking at the likes of Tectonic/Deep Medi/Tempa.. no grime label comes even remotely close, only ones that do stopped releasing a long time ago.

But someone was talking about "this new wave" so you've got coyote, oil gang, glacial sound, the butterz stuff, hyperdub, Bandulu, one offs like bone squad or Boofy and Lemzly dales white label, spooky's new ghost house dubs the key sound stuff, the Slackk eps on local action (one is forthcoming), more labels like fine grains and ho tep that have occassional grime releases
The vinyl side of things are doing well
Re: Producer called Compa
I use the term rather loosely didn't mean it in a serious way, still tune into in bi weekly show.

Re: Producer called Compa
I love Big Narstie, watch the Uncle Pain videos all the time.. I'm just saying thats pretty much where a lot of grime is atm, catchphrases and the like.. quick sell on itunes instead of taking the time to make something decent and packaged well, released on all formats. Yeah a lot of the 'new wave' is coming out on vinyl but thats about it.. hardly any of the labels that are active atm have more than 5/6 releases lol.. for a scene thats like 12 years old thats pretty weak.dididub wrote:Alright we get you don't like big narstie![]()

I'm just comparing it to dubstep though, I like both genres equally but I buy a shit load more dubstep than grime and I miss a lot of what I want in dubstep but still manage to get almost every grime record I want. Majority as well is old stuff.
Footsie needs to start releasing vinyl again.

Re: Producer called Compa
Fair enough. It's years behind dubstep in terms of established labels and number of releases.
Getting better all the time tho
