Hey Magma.
Fuck WWE.

Check out Lucha Underground

Main event from their first show 4* match imo. Watched it twice in one week, last timeI did that for a WWE match was Cesaro vs Sami Zayn 2 out of 3 falls match.
Program is only a hour long, and the promos are a bit weird though, kind of like a low budget action movie talking scenes. Though the in ring work is head, and shoulders above wwe.

Prince Puma is Ricochet btw, if you know who he is.

Nice one, I'll check that out if I get some time.

Props for stepping into wub's obscure-wrestling-recommendations-for-the-ninjas vacuum. :Q:

Finally got round to watching HIAC a couple of days ago... Cesaro/Ziggler was great, but the HIACs were a bit disappointing. Had high hopes when I saw it was gonna be Dean Andrews and Seth Rollins, but it kind of fell flat I thought. I simply cannot care about Cena/Orton.

Surprisingly good Women's Title match.

yeah i was dissapointed by the HIACs too. Cena vs Orton was pretty bad and Cena is fucking terribly boring. Andrews vs Rollins was alright but was overhyped and they haven't got the presence in the ring to pull off a decent no holds barred match imo.

I fully rate ziggler as a great wrestler, he's technically great and always puts on a decent match. his match on raw on monday was good too.

I always skip diva matches but i might check em out, apparently theyre getting better.

2 of the best in ring guys they got on the main roaster atm, should both have a run at the top, shame it will probably never happen. Ziggler is one of the few decent wrestler to go through WWE developmental without a indie background.

Guys he's called Ambrose aka Jon Moxley.

Nah Ambrose ain't a no holds barred wrestler, he's a fucking sick in the head death match mother fucker. 2 time CZW champ aka the gore federation.

Man has taken it all chairs, light tubes, kid toys, barbed wire, powertools...

WWE should let him of the leash let him show the world how he is legit crazy, but yeah not gonna happen.

Rollins is good in ring, and can take a bump, just shit at promos lol.

Rant: WWE signs indie wrestlers who are better in ring that 90% of the current roaster (and of the 10% that are better, 90% of them were indie wrestlers). Then they send them to purgatory for about a year, where they wait for creative find them a new name, and a new shitty gimmick. They then debut on NXT, and are promoted as the next big thing.Though they seem to have been reprogramed amd forgot half their move set, and what made them popular on the indie scene. Then they debut on raw, get pushed in the main event of a few ppv's after a few month, then job for the next few years. Thats the lucky ones though, some get lost in purgatory, or NXT forever.

Fair enough, I don't really watch any wrestling aside from WWE, I know I'd probably enjoy it but i always get put off by the really bad production quality. Got any starting points that you'd reccomend?

I think I'm good on that gore shit nowadays tbh... always found it impressive in a sort of "Not sure how much more of this I can watch, but WOAH" kind of way and now it just makes me feel all sad inside.

[begin=Fridaywrestlerant]

I never thought I'd say it as a teenager, but my heart actually sinks a little when something I'm looking forward to gets booked as NHB or 'extreme rules' these days. It used to be a once or twice a year thing for a huge feud and I remember nearly soiling myself when I finally got to see Hogan and Beefcake Vs Zeus and Macho Man, now you can tune in and see people twatting each other with baking sheets and landing on thumbtacks somewhere any night of the week. I'd never deny the enjoyment they gave me as a 14 year old, but ECW have a LOT to answer for for making 'extreme' mainstream IMHO. Jimmy Snuka diving off the cage should still be enough. Tables should never have become a 'standard' weapon (seriously, some imagination please WWE!) and no regular PPV should ever be based around a specific gimmick match, unless it's the Royal Rumble; when was the last time a HIAC match shocked *anyone*? That structure hasn't been anywhere close to demonic in a good 10 years.

Don't even get me started on the fucking Elimination Chamber.

Depends what your into?

CZW/Big Japan Pro Wrestling (BJW) for death match stuff
PWG/ROH for technical mat wrestling
Chikara for PG funny shit/high flying
Hoodslam for NSFW funny shit/stoner vibes
AAA for lucha
Lucha underground for more accessible lucha
NJPW for japanese technical/high flying
dragon's gate usa like NJPW but american
loads more

ROH/Chikara use to be the shit, but stopped watching them as of late (so can say if they are worth watching now). Might be worth checking some of there old matchs though with WWE guys; Bryan (Bryan Danielson), CM Punk (kept his name), Rollins (tyler black), Kevin Steen (in WWE devlopmental atm fuck knows what they will call him...), Cesaro (Claudio Castagnoli), Sami Zayn (El Generico)...

I like this match, it's not as good as it gets tbf, but it's pretty short, and got lots of good spots, sort of the thing non wrestling fans would go wow at. I will link some more stuff if you want it? but I kind of find it hard when some ask to recommend stuff, because there is just soo much different stuff out there, and it can be hard finding some matchs on youtube.

I really like PWG atm they don't do that many shows like once a month, but when they do they are like 4-12 hours long over a couple of days sometimes. They get loads of the best current indie guys, and they put on decent length matchs to really let them showcase their self.
magma wrote:I think I'm good on that gore shit nowadays tbh... always found it impressive in a sort of "Not sure how much more of this I can watch, but WOAH" kind of way and now it just makes me feel all sad inside.
Yeah it's not my thing, but I think all wrestling fans should watch the first few CZW tournament of death's just to see how fucked wrestling can get, and stop blaming PG for WWE being shit. It's shit because it marketing/brain washing for kids, disguised as wrestling.

Nasty don't look.
[+] Spoiler

Very true I think we should go extreme to an extent, but it should be saved for big matchs, like undertaker/Mandkind HIAC.

CZW tournament of death is like king of the ring but, for death matchs, each match is a certain type of death match, and by the time they get to the finale they are already so fucked up, and then they go even more extreme, and do some shit like a 1000 light tube death match. Like 4 hours of WTF!!!

Lighter note to end on

Fandango (with Rosa Mendes) vs. TBA
Team Cena (John Cena, Dolph Ziggler, Big Show, Erick Rowan and Ryback) vs. Team Authority (Seth Rollins, Kane, Mark Henry, Rusev and Luke Harper) Traditional Survivor Series elimination tag team match; if Team Authority loses, they will no longer be in power. If Team Cena loses, all team members will be fired from WWE.
AJ Lee (c) vs. Nikki Bella WWE Divas Championship
Dean Ambrose vs. Bray Wyatt
Gold and Stardust (c) vs. The Usos (Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso) vs. Los Matadores (Diego and Fernando) vs. The Miz and Damien Mizdow Fatal 4-Way tag team match for the WWE Tag Team Championship
Alicia Fox, Emma, Naomi and Natalya vs. Paige, Cameron, Layla and Summer Rae Divas Traditional Survivor Series elimination tag team match

The card is shit, what has happened to like half the roaster?

confusing show
[+] Spoiler
first few matches were forgettable

mizdow win was inevitable given theyre the most over of the tag teams

bella lee match was intense considerin how short it was but cant help but feel wouldve left a lot of the younger fans with some new and confusing emotions about seeing two women make out

ambrose wyatt was good but not as great as it couldve been which is a shame

main event was standout marqeuee stuff though

big show turns

cena eliminated

sting debuts

ziggler survives

Was good, I wanted more, looking forward to raw tonight for the first time in ages.
[+] Spoiler
My thoughts;

1. Cesaro shouldn't be on the preshow

2. The tag team division is now beyond a joke, but I look forward to The Miz, and Mizdows antics over the next few months.

3. Diva SS match went for about 3 times longer than I thought it would, weird booking with no one on the other team being eliminated?

4. Ambrose Wyatt. Dean should be winning here, so he can get out of this shit feud, and move on to bigger and better things. It's obvious they want him out the way atm with the way they just put him in a feud with Wyatt, to get him out of the feud with Rollins that never really finished. Hopefully he can get out of purgatory with Wyatt soon, and get into a decent match at mania. What was with him rearranging the furniture, to do just fuck all with it? I know it's to build to the TLC match, but please.

5. Bunny... :H:

6. AJ Lee Vs Brie Bella. They obviously were shiting it in the back when they realised the divas, had already gone over their allotted 5 mins of in ring per show, so cut this one short. Kiss was hot though haha, but to think they're fucking Punk, and Bryan :? :o :(

7. MAIN EVENT!!!

Big Show KO's Henry :D

Ryback does his job quick, after they built him up a little again, and know he goes back to being full on jobber. I quite like Ryback as big guys go, but oh well idc.

Rusev obviously gets counted out, so he can keep his never been pinned/submitted crap. Watch as soon as he lose that he will job harder than Ryback

Big Show KO's Cena. Predictable. Show flipflops like a mofo.

Ziggler Vs the world. I wanted Ziggler to win so bad cause I had enoght of this authority angle . Thought he could take 2 of them out, but not Rollins, without the help from someone, but couldn't really see where is was coming from (Bryan? Punk? Reigns? Ortan? Cean? Big Show???). Though they had him kinda go iver Rollins, With HHH taking out the 2 refs :? :D

Then Sting with some weird music appears, and just his presents alone makes the ref forget how to count to 3

Ziggler Wins. Nice to see Ziggler get the push he deserve, nice for Cena not to be superman all the time. Nice to see Sting in a WWE ring even if he is 56, and was kinda weird/not need in this PPV.

I want to see how Raw starts tonight, how will be the new authority, what will happen with Sting, Ziggler, Cean, Big Show, Vince, HHH.

8/10

Also hope the smarks are happy for getting what they want...

I don't know if you can go over slater, he is like the bottum of the card, the undercard.

I really want to know who the bunny is though.

You seen Adam Rose when he was Leo Kruger? Much perfer that than his current gimmick, can't stand Adam Rose tbh.

Probably cause there is only room for one Wyatt on the roaster, he was so good at doing the deranged thing though :)

Yeah. Steen is great, but Kevin owens, sounds like the name of the guy that would come round to look at my boiler

Don't think his style will really work in WWE, doubt he will go far.

WWE basically turning in to ROH a few years ago :D
