I don't think it'll kill dubstep at all, thats just ridiculous when you've got stuff like dmz

with regards to this I think if there's going to be a hip hop artist on a dubstep track it would suit something like gza, krs 1, kool keith, mf doom or vast aire for example cos they've got a more similiar vibe in the first place

saying that though i think it could be just as likely to risk ending up a bit of a disappointment because of the rhythmic differences and type of swing that seperates dubstep from hip hop. in some cases this can leave the hip hop mcing sounding a bit odd

in my opinion grime mcs are at least rhythmically much more tuned into flowing over dubstep and it would mean a considerable change of style or adaptation for a straight hip hop mc to do a really good job of flowing over a dubstep track imo

maybe thats why something like matty g might work better with snoop, because there's more of an overt hip hop sound to his productions?

Fair point but it seems that most of the hatred is for this tune rather than the idea of a collaboration.

I still haven't heard it so can't comment.

But on a far more eclipsing point, went corsica last night and saw Chef,LD,Oneman * Sikie+Quest - all for a fiver! Such a sick night...pure energy and quality. N-type, henny g and kutz all there as well supporting the launch - A dubstep night of the highest calibre, so thanks to Alll who made it possiblay. i also nabbed myself the new mr.lager/kutz release as well only for a fiver! so thanks to chef for bringing a few white labels with him and i wish SUBFREQ the best.

i couldn't help but thinking howw much the atmosphere could benefit soo many more millions of people. it's such a shame dubstep has been outed to a great mass of people in such a distasteful way. I mean i remember about 3 years ago my friend asked me if i knew what the dark nutty tune from skins was, and i had the absolute pleasure & pride in saying the 3 words that changed her musical life:
MIDNIGHT REQUEST LINE

*the idea of a hyped DJ in possession of a heavy bassline soo powerful that he/she would seeminly ram it down a persons throat.

Your beef with this tune seems to coincide with some kind of personal beef with me. Explain please.

27 pages of the same complaints!
Yeh Snoop is ruthless media whore but what is anyone on here going to do about it by complaining. There's always gonna be people who come along and try to fuck up music for others. At the end of the day you like the music for it origins and all the tunes nobody else knows about and no one should let a rapper change that.
I'm not ashamed to say that i actually enjoy the Sugababes music, just because their popular doesn't make them shit. Similarly i don't like every dubstep producer on the basis they produce dubstep, some of them are shit but i just avoid them.

Did any of this make any sense? think i just had an outer body rant experience

This thread =

People who hate track Vs People who like track

People voicing opinion Vs People not wanting to voice opinion

People who think it's a bad concept Vs People who think it's good

People who don't know what the fuck is going on and can't read and comprehend things vs all of the above

It's been nothing but flame and shit for atleast 7 pages, been a bit of it ever since the tune was posted as well

seriously should all just be locked and deleted since some people will never learn and being civilized clearly is not an option

this is turning into a bit of a witch hunt, I think people need to take a step back and realise that music progresses. This is surely all just part of the journey, obviously its not to everyones taste, there are divides across all musical genres. Its a real shame things seem to have got far too ugly... for anyone else reading shit on here the dubstep community is making itself look a right twat.

We were well right to diss that sun journalist about burial, but this its ridiculous to think that people are calling this the death of dubstep??? AGAIN lol. If you think that then great, its dead to you go on to the next form of underground music and hold that back in sted

Please do not have the audacity to excuse my opinions on this cheesey production on any bovine related matter. (dairy puns aside)

the only beef i've ever had with you is probably being weary at just how indebted i am to producers like you for giving me absolute gems like Japan, further, finales such as GLADE.

it is shocking that someone like you would say something like this, "press will eat this up whether or not people like it. simple." why don't you put your thumb on your nose spread out your fingers and say nuuurrr nurrr nur nurrr nurr to complete the picture.
...no, shocking's too harsh......it's ....upsetting: i wuv you plasticman

Bruv, in a previous post in this very topic you wrote, and I quote:
dubstepjuice wrote: haha and between tag-team plasticman and charles fucking holgate [:a:] - i wonder how much mulah we will have taken from the yanks at the 1/4 close
$$MONEY MONEY MONEY$$ sound SE style
You are now accusing me of earning money off the back of a track I haven't even produced. I don't take accusations of this type very lightly.

Dragging Charles Holgate into it pissed me off even more. You clearly have some kind of beef to be dragging other people's names into it.

The last time I checked that is not raising any kind of opinion, thats a straight up accusation without any grounds to base it on which honestly made me feel physically sick when I read it.

If you wish to discuss further please PM me, there's enough bickering going on in this thread already.

so after listening to it again and also forwarding off to friends who listen nothing but hip hop, Again the same conclusion is "what is this?". This is neither dubstep nor hiphop whether it be old school, east coast, dirty south, west coast, hyphy, etc. So I don't see what the point is when people are trying to hype it as "dubstep"

The thing about dubstep is that dubstep is not just genre to some people. But its a way of life. Chase & Status came out with a few bangers here and there, but do they really know what dubstep is? Or do they just know how to use some type of patch?.

You'd think that professional musicians would actually put effort into there work and make something that is original. What we witnessed with both chase & status and snoop dogg is absolute unprofessionalism. Either chase & status has given up on dubstep all together or they have turned to greed.

There is no doubt in my mind that they have sold "eastern jam" to Snoop Dogg. After all he is a grammy award winner that has so much money and so many powerful lawyers that one can't image how many times they can sue over and over. Chase & Status doesn't realize that they are signing stuff with the music industry in corporate america (which is a scary and greedy place).

The only true album that came from Snoop Dogg was his first "Doggystyle" in 1993 . Any other albums after that have been complete trash.

I find it rather fucking depressing that producers who have put their entire life into something that they care for deeply have to explain themselves to just about anybody as if they're on trial via the medium of message boards.

What happened to the mystique of music? The internets makes my head spin sometimes. We've lost out a great deal, I hope what we have gained makes up for it.
what is of value and wisdom for one man seems nonsense to another.

Sure they have legal reps. But they are no where near powerful then the lawyers that EMI and Atlantic has. They'll eat there victims including there children for breakfast.
