soho? really? you don't exactly have to do research, just watch that bassweight documentary or listen to anything any of the old producers have said. where did you even get the idea that dubstep originated in soho mr DMA?

Croydon, Soho, they're both in London aren't they? Just because one's known for facelifts and the other for vice dens doesn't mean they aren't easily confused.

I feel like we just got americaned.

Massive amount of posts just got murked off. There are hundreds and hundreds of threads that go completely off topic all the time. Why on this specific thread is everything being moderated so hard.

Thank you for admitting that forum isnt half shabby.

even as someone who doesnt mesh well with dumbass youtube kids, that place can be downright pleasant at times. They have stickies defining dub vs. dubstep, they have a clean layout, on-point promotional platforms, and a much more diverse crowd then people give them credit for.

I actually downloaded a few really bangin future garage tracks over there earlier, and copped an old Pinch set id never heard. Stick that in your pretentious scene-dividing bowl n smoke it.

For being the place the haters refer kids too here, im left to think none of them have bothered posting on the forum to know what they're bitching about.

oh. and they talk about stuff other then how shit dubstep is now on there too...

DOnt get me wrong, dsf will always be my go-to forum, has been for ages and nothings changing that now, but, just sayin.

so what, they're nice kids with interesting things to say.
Doesn't mean the garbage that gets posted there should get my presidential pardon. They can still fuck right off.
I don't even care that people are calling that UKF culture thing dubstep. Hey, they can if they want to, who am I to disagree. But it is thanks to the spread of shite like that (and inspector dubplate and the likes) that the parties I can go to and enjoy myself are vastly thinning out. And I'm more and more having to take a lot of the bad with some of the good...

This I naturally don't like. I can't stop it I know. But I sure as shit won't be happy about it either.

HUGE LOL at Plastician being on the lineup after slating the very idea of the event.

And if you care to answer: What do you mean by best "international" act? Can someone from outside the UK be nominated for best producer? I have zero idea why you would need both categories? What sort of things should be nominated for "best producer" and and what should be nominated for "best international act"?

I've had this question answered by them and I was told that it is anybody outside the UK. So this is the UK Dubstep Music Awards.

Will there therefore be an American/European/Asian/Oceana one where UK acts can with best International Artist?

It should be called 'One Promoters idea of UK Dubstep Music Awards 2011'

I mean What is to stop anyone else doing this next year? Maybe multiple awards shows?!

Surely by this rule then Skrillex votes can not be counted for any other categories?? so thats good right?

Unlikely I'd say........its really silly IMO. Need to maximise the amount of award *he who should not be named* can win.

They should have not had an International Award really as people are voting from all over the world, and its quite obvious ''International'' artists are going to win other awards too! I'd personally class Skream & Benga more international than some of the people that can win as they play all over the world.
