thats as ill-informed a statement as any
Re: United States Presidential Election 2012
Would I personally prefer a 2nd term for Obama to Romney getting into office? Yeah. But liberals like to kid themselves and pretend that this president has never made any mistakes and always apologize for him and try to justify his policies just because they can't accept the fact that he's no different from any other politician. His administration is filled with former Wall Street guys, he's used drones on his own citizens without a fair trial and his healthcare "reform" is the biggest blowjob the insurance industry has ever received. He's just like everyone else.

Re: United States Presidential Election 2012
then what is your reason for wanting a 2nd term of Obama
Re: United States Presidential Election 2012
you really think your political forum banter is going to change the reasons why i'm voting for obama? c'mon now
you're part of the problem if you keep slanging the term ''liberals'' around, you sound like a ninety year old porch grandpa. i realize one MAY not be better then the other, which is the way US politics goes but i'm willing to risk a second term with obama then this romney guy. i've got my reasons.

seriously LAWD KNOWS, the type of people you're surrounded by in nebraska but your opinions on ''liberals'' are so skewed.do you really believe that? where have you experienced these people? why haven't i? and more importantly, what are you doing to enact change in this two party political system you're so frustrated about?..SCope13 wrote:Would I personally prefer a 2nd term for Obama to Romney getting into office? Re: United States Presidential Election 2012
I don't. He's just slightly better than Romney (socially). Both of their economics and foreign policies are terrible. I'll be voting for Stein.Today wrote:then what is your reason for wanting a 2nd term of Obama

So all the liberals you come into contact with are just vehemently critical of Obama? Get real, most of them are willing to make excuses for him just because it's Obama, and will follow the Democratic party just as blindly as conservatives follow the GOP. I think Gene can back me up on this.
And my geographic location really has nothing to do with my idea of what a liberal is. Nice ad hom though. In case you haven't noticed, there's this thing called the internet now that kinda allows you to come into contact with people other than those within your immediate area.

Well let's see, I have to start paying for college here pretty soon, coupled with the fact I'm kinda focused on school and what not, so not much. As if me not having the means to fix all the world's problems by myself makes my argument any less valid. You're really good at this ad hominem thing.LACE wrote:and more importantly, what are you doing to enact change in this two party political system you're so frustrated about?..SCope13 wrote:Would I personally prefer a 2nd term for Obama to Romney getting into office? Seeing as you do nothing but rely on ad hominems and haven't presented a single argument yet, I really question your ability to "make a coherent argument". Back to your flock, sheep.

Re: United States Presidential Election 2012
just got in an argument with my dad about whether the Dems and GOP represent two "extreme" views. He doesn't realize that Dems are firmly rooted in the center of the political spectrum and thinks that the only reason I don't see them as "extreme" is because I'm so far to the left.

romney/ryan tax plan is shiesty
thats what i keep hearing anyway, and when i tried to check on my own, i'm finding it's true
they lie about it and it's shit for the american people
Obama tax plan favors middle class instead of millionaires
i'm pretty sick and tired of hearing about how if I vote in the 2 party system i'm "part of the problem" as if someone is so much better than me for not participating, doing fuck all to change anything and voting for an obscure 3rd party candidate
yeah, you're so much more proactive

Every vote keeps gets us more and more entrenched in the two party system. So yes, always voting for one of the two major parties makes you part of the problem.
And maybe that "obscure 3rd party candidate" wouldn't be so obscure to you if you took the time to research them?

Everytime I come in this thread, I want to post this song because of a different line:
"...now the president's laughing cos we voted for Nader...."
"...now the president's laughing cos we voted for Nader...."
Meus equus tuo altior est
"Let me eat when I'm hungry, let me drink when I'm dry.
Give me dollars when I'm hard up, religion when I die."
