Had some moments of brilliance, but was far too long and drawn out.
This is one of Tarantino's best IMO. Loved so many of the characters & scenes!

It's 25% too long. Shave a quarter off the run time, compress a few scenes down and yes, it would be truly great.

Pretty good conspiracy thriller, the love scene halfway through is terrible and completely out of place but it's got a great feel to it and some awesome characters (Joubert)
I'm on a paranoia tip now, Parallax View tonight methinks :)

A straight forward thriller with predictable plot twists.. However, it has an interesting concept and the acting is on point. I'd give it a 7/10

The ending felt a bit abrupt and sappy but an enjoyable film overall.

The length didn't really bother me too much, i don't mind lengthy movies at all really. But besides the characters Tarantino created for this film it wasn't too great. Tarintino is an artist but this movie wasn't too clever especially compared to his true greats like Resevoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction. This is more about the visual and cinematic side of movies, vs the creative imagery and screenplay.

Hellraiser: Revelations - Crap acting despite the potential, and not the same actor who played pinhead through the whole series
The Howling: Reborn - The Howling meets MTV generation, not entirely horrible, not that good either
AM1200 - Awesome short in Lovecraftian spirit
Castle Freak - Pure Jeffery Combs awesomeness

Although the movie poster made me think it would be crap, I really loved this movie. really entertaining and quite funny, Owen Wilson didn't annoy me as much as he has done in his more recent films.

pretty good, storyline moved along quickly, some epic monkey battle scenes, plus baby ceasar was just too god damn cute!

Do not bother with the sequel, it's utter gash.
I don't remember posting in this thread, but it says I have; anyhow, what are your views on this film? I saw this back in HS like 9 years ago and thought it was cool on a superficial level. I've seen it a few times since showing it to friends, but when I saw this like a year or two ago I finally realized the significance of that movie. If you know anything about Japan you'll know that the collapse of the bubble era in the 90's had a deep impact on its society which is still felt today: think lost generation(s).

Its really just a metaphor for its implications.Try keeping that in mind when you see it and it presents itself in a different light than just a gory film with that chick from kill bill vividly stabbing a dude in the balls.

I just saw the Gantz movies b2b and another Beat Takeshi movie from the 90's. Techy manga was never my thing, but it was a cool way to pass a rainy day in between reading and that comedy.

Is "The Tree of Life" any good? It's (finally) being screened at my local cinema from next week.

Ahhhh...when me and my ex split up about 4yrs ago, I lost my 13 disc special edition boxed set of the Alien series.

Though I did get to keep the Predator Special Edition boxed set. Even so, meh.
