I've been cleaning my track with eq and stuff, tell me what you think, maybe i overworked and missed something :6:

@CrewCutz
Sounds nice overall. Distorted bass at 0:15-0:40 clashes with vox a little. I think that clap kinda lacks attack and is too wide, kick is drowned a bit and the pattern is kinda odd, maybe something simpler would do the trick?
@Houston Weather
Nice ideas in the intro, but i think it should speed up faster, also try to add layers over time start with the melody add hihats-snare-kick and drop it :D Drop needs louder drums and better samples overall, mb try adding something weird upbeat noise moombahtone-esc uwauwa for example. :6:
@Alexandercunningham
Nice intro, glitchy. Pauses are kinda overused. There is no real development, just one riff after, hihats in the end do not count :P. Try to follow story structure http://terribleminds.com/ramble/wp-cont ... lyshit.jpg

Hi,

Here's my WIP, based on a well known requiem.

Hope you'll enjoy it and give me some feedbacks.

F.

@Kongret
Loved this ! Very original. Cool lead synths in the first part (before 2:50).

@Illusive-Music
Too much dark for me, but very good quality. Sounds very good.

@FAARE FACED
Nice drop, but the growl bass is, for me, a little to low, or maybe add some low-mid freq. Good work on this track.

syxx: leave feedback first mate, intro is good, mix is tight, the sub is either so low my headphones arent picking it up or it can up in the mix a bit. this is a great tune mate vibes and all. one thing! is the synth that comes in later, it has glide setting on it and iss kinda spooky... i dont like it very much thats not up to me tho just my opinion. nice work keep it up

kongret: drums are so funky man, the breakdown is well done man. mixdown is ok, some things could change but. just a little tightening here and their. the horns are yes. ooh this tune gets really heated by the end. all the sound effects are a bit overwhelming maybe bring them down slightly. nice job

whistler: ok ur synth has way to much saturation on it in my opinion. this is like the biggest tune ever made.. requirem for a dream and martin luther king, simply fuse them together and boom haha. ok ur snare sounds a little dull maybe brighten it up whith some saturation and bring up the highs. i like how you arranged all ur bass noises, its not a bunch of random fat noises. although i think all ur bass sounds are a little dry they are fat dont get me wrong but could use some colour...make a send or a buss whith a touch of reverb and some phasers and variouse other effects so it glues all ur basses together and adds another dimention to ur sounds. sorry if that sounds condisending, just my first thought so i stuck with it. anyway its sunding good nice one

new one i have been working on, i might just have to bin it, sounds really boring to me..anyway thanks all

@ Kongret: Concept is really nice, I think it is a bit too wild or chaotic for my taste. I would tune some elements down a bit. But overall a nice and unorthodox track. I like it!

@ BudSpencertron: Something about this track feels really spiritually moving and hypnotizing. Nice groove and nice melodies. Im totally digging it!

@ Sparky: Vocals are nicely glitched up. I guess you were heavily inspired by Skrillex. The snare lacks a bit high end for my taste though.

@ RandoRando: I think the pads in the intro are really great. But when it "drops" there is too much reverb floating around I think. The synth sounds themselves are amazing though.

So here's mine, hope you'll like it:

@Kongret
Everything is good, needs more punch though in my opinion, and it seems a little too atmospheric my opinion.

@Withsler
Needs a bit of cleanup and more things going on during the drop, or some more fattening up wouldn't hurt. Overall, not bad.

@Travis
The organ-ish synth is slightly annoying at times. Better to remove it or make is sound more pleasing, but thats just my opinion. I still like the chill atmosphere!

@bRRRz
Haha, love the sick neurofunkish lead! XD Some stereo differentiation wouldn't hurt though just to make it fuller and better mixed, other than the toms, the song seems to be too mono for me. ALSO, for this style of music, a HARD, PUNCHY kick is simply NEEDED.

@CrewCutz
The lead neurofunky synth needs some fattening up. Some mixing wouldn't hurt either, I sometimes hear the kick get muddied into some of the music.

@Houston Weather
Needs variety of synths. If not, make it fun to listen to. The entire song seems to go on the same melody which could be slightly monotonous to listen to at times, so I recommend you at more synths, or make an entirely different drop loosely attached to the lead music.

@Alexandercunningham
I love this song! :D
It reminds me of Aphex Twin a bit. Don't sidechain the kick to the vocals though! I can't say anything else. Its super chill. I love it.

Anyways, I'm not too good at dubstep as I'm more of an electro house person, but I decided to give it a shot and this is the result of the WIP. Thanks for listening! :)

@Kongret Really love your bases. Nice composition. Maybe a little bit more sub except it was your intention to sound it like that....

@Danimal: Nice mixdown. Very spacy, everything sits well. Really like that chilled tune. Good luck getting signed :)

@Alexandercunningham: even more deep and chilled :D really like it

you all got decent mixdowns, everything sounds so clear and sits well in the stereo image. I struggled making a mixdown for this one. I think I nearly did 10 mixdowns on this one and I'm still not happy with it. I've read alot in the moneyshot thread and things about stereo spreading over the last 2 weeks. Maybe you can give me a some tips where my mixdown can be improved...
What I've learned during the past 2 weeks is, that I need at least a second project to work on as I really got started to get annoyed by the song and the whole mixdown procedure because I needed to listen to it a billion times and redo things over and over again. Another thing is, that noone of my friends produces and could help me improve with this. so I'm really stuck to reading in this forum, watching youtube tuts and trying everything on my own...

thanks for your help, time and feedback on this.

edit: ups forgot the soundcloud link
edit 2: as you can see in the description this song was made for a remix competiton by heresy theory which is open till the end of this month. so you're still able to join this competiton ;)

You might want to try disabling entire objects (synths especially, huge pads) in order to find out which one makes the mix muddy then compress it / cut down on the reverb/release in the envelope / move it to a place in the stereo image where it doesn't make other elements sound muddy

Don't have a WIP yet, but working on some drumstep, and i have to say, intentionally making the snare clip made it so much better. Of course the mix doesn't clip, but just the snare's channel. Sounds so fat. Wasn't able to replicate it with any type of distortion

manudiao sounds really legit, nice job mixing :W:
Electric_Head i dig it but maybe lower the volume that one warping synth?
Kongret nice job with everything pretty funky, growl basses arent really my thing but this toon is a fun one to listen to. :D

Heres like a slow-hop tune i just made thats pretty much done or is done, might change some things up if maybe i here something i would like to try to make it better.

Clodmeister: Really cool tune man, different. I like it. Its just a bit too "white noisy" for me.

Manudiao: Wow really nice. new school sound but sort of old school vibe. Really like this one. The vocals fit really well! :Q:

Lifeofcows: Well it sure does sound like a new artist made it. Your percussion is on point though, just keep working at it.

bRRz: Damn that track is funky as hell! Only think I could say was to change up the beat a tiny tiny bit somewhere in there for a bar or two! :Q:

Heres my tune!

Kongret: im enjoying the swing in this track. different than what i usually hear, it sounds a little compressed but im not pro at eqing or anything. crazy drop, for being crazy i think the track swings well.

withsler: straight forward design, get more swing in there. its a chill concept, but bring out the swing by adding percussion to those off-spaces.

bRRRz: the beat sounds pretty dope, i like the whole concept. sounds raw & empty which i like.

edit: antman: shits sick! not much else to say, i like it. followed on sc.

bferg333 - Monotone bass sounds bad for me, needs developing musically.

FAARE FACED - Not heard the original track so It's hard to know what was original. Drum work sounds nice and clean, with some good fills. I'm not convinced about the dribbly bass that starts the back and forth exchange, or the synth in the build-up, but the tune progresses well and the intro is solid.

RandoRando - tune builds well, but sounds too busy after about 40 odd seconds, too many different synths going off.

alexandercunningham - nice atmos, kick drum is maybe clashing slightly with the bass, have you tried sidechain compression?

Latest WIP, took some previous comments on board, altered the arrangement and messed with the bass a little.
Let me know what you guys think,
There is geometry in the humming of the strings, there is music in the spacing of the spheres.
