let's get one thing straight shall we? something we can all agree on? burial is IDM. if you asked anyone in the street, he'd get tagged IDM.

U really r a fucking bellend.kp mike wrote:thy musical opinions shall not be in the minority amoungst thee DSF elite.
BUrial is probably actually the most commercially succesful musician in the dubstep scene or IDM or whatever other gay little categorisations you have come up with. so shut the fuck up with 'DSF elite' wank.
The fact that you find burial boring really reflects on your personality, and made it extremely easy for me to realise you are probably a massive borgore/datsik etc fan. THIS kind of music should probably have one of your little categorisations seperating it from dubstep rather than burial, as i believe them to be far more estranged from what dubstep is.

I actually thought that and I hope you didn't think I was rippin on you. The only opinions that do not belong on this forum are that of people who have literally no interest in dubstep or any connecting genre. I assume there is dubstep you do enjoy and if you dont like IDM and thats what you hear, fine to be honest...each to there own.kp mike wrote:will you lot just leave me the fuck alone?

Yeh thats mainly what the thread was actually gettin at...always had good tunes and it was equally a big up to him/her for good taste and for using their position to get it into people's minds.
It was quite a short clip of dog shelter. But shoot me in the face if i got that wrong.
Lastly...Do we know if his tune on benji b's show or true love vip will ever ever hit the shelves?

Laughable how much Burial gets gunned on here. He is a producer who is pushing a unique sound into a genre which has its fair amount of unimaginative tunes. No he may not be producing dance floor bangers etc but like most music, it has its moments which is revels in. For every 16 Bit mosh pit induced rave up there is someone chilling at home with Untrue on. I cant say we have ever dropped a Burial tune in a live set (perhaps we would on radio) but there is certainly a time and a place.
That being said, its never going to be everyones cup of tea, and perhaps appeals to an even smaller niche than dubstep but it still has its place and he has sold alot of records so credit where credits due. Just because you dont like it/play it doesnt mean its bad music.
Whether it is dubstep or not is up to the people who buy it. Rather than splitting each tune down to a sub sub sub genre, operating under the guise of dubstep is for me correct umberela for it to be placed under.

Would probably help if you read the thread. 98 percent of the comments on here are positive towards burial. just a certain KP mike, who was the one getting gunned down, was being rude about the main man burial.brokedjs wrote:Laughable how much Burial gets gunned on here. Re: Burial on Top Gear
A lot of people don't really 'get' burial and, as much as I love him, i see where they're coming from if they aren't into the music as much as they are into just going to the nights. It's a much subtler (and, in my opinion, much smarter) style - prob one that the Borgore fans don't quite understand...yetbrokedjs wrote:Not just talking about this thread, have seen a fair few people gunning for him.

Talking shit about Burial is the kind of thing you should get slapped for. That's like talkin' 'bout my mama.

but i think thats why he has that sound, so people will question what it is, and then hopefully realise it actually doesnt matter.
