I mean, I will give this guy the benefit of the doubt and if my usual ME is ever busy I will get a clip done, like I did with Macc and that other guy (sorry forgot your name!) who posts on here.

But please, stop name dropping really shitty artists, its making me think you won't know how to master my music and will master it, as if its a dancefloor track and if you did that, you deffo would get a pants write up! I don't care how pendulum or chase and status made/mixed/mastered their music - all I care about is that you get good results and if your mastering was worthy of the price, despite using cracked software, you wouldn't have to justify yourself so much.

thats no problem , I can confirm I've just landed a mastering job from a producer who is releasing a dubstep EP soon.....no labels mentioned etc etc.....he said that the usual ME for the record label done a shit job , and as I've already mastered some of the producer's tracks and he was happy with them , they have returned to use my mastering services......

Well good for you Teksteppa : )

Whilst I cannot match the pricing Teksteppa is offering.
(Sorry, I cannot do mastering for £9.40 (after tax and NI), I am using £5,000.00 of monitoring alone.)

But I can do a free preview, so at least you can compare what is on offer, so CC me in on any uploads.

But please spare my time from emails going back and delays to your preview by...

1)Not clipping the stereo output on your DAW (check your exported .wav or .aiff in your DAW by zooming in
and checking that the tops of waveforms are not squared off, basically do not let peaks go above zero on your output meter)

2)Remove the limiter on the master bus (being sure to refer to point 1)

I would have felt bad about doing this if Tek was on a higher moral ground but there is nothing
wrong with a little fair and friendly competition is there?

cheers

A bit of competition is all good and healthy.......but I hope people do take the opportunity to A / B test masters

Safe and sound --- do you produce music or just master ?

I'm also a producer / DJ , and this has really helped me over the years to learn what a track 'needs'

I specify in mastering Dubstep / Breaks / Drum n Bass / Jungle , but I also produced a number of other styles including techno / house / hardcore etc etc

So if its experience the customer is looking for , I would say I am the ME for you

Hi Tek, I have been an electronic music maker since 1991, predominantly dance music
oriented, always been into acid house (from the start), house, hardcore, drum and bass, techno,
and always known what pirate radio has been up to in London (and still do).

I have been working amongst other things as a straight to stereo/multitrack music recording engineer
(if there is one thing that get your chops together in terms of musical balance it's this, and this is everything
from Grime MC sessions on Radio 1Xtra to full bands for Radio 2), BBC radio programme mixer/editor (about 500 progs including Jazz on 3),
audio post production engineer (sound to picture), consultant for a 7 room studio complex build, engineering outside broadcast events (international radio) for events such as Brits/MOBO's,live gig recording engineer recording people such as Carl Craig, Mulatu Astatke, James Pants, mastering for around 1 1/2 years seriously (other than own productions and specific jobs that came with my full time engineering career), recorded household names for at least 4 years of my career. Now mastering for a rapidly expanding client base including independent labels and artist from all genres.

If you want someone who knows what they are doing and is seriously committed, look no further.

don't really agree with using cracked software but if you can't afford to buy it its tough. as for the mastering we got a few clips done to A-B and tek mastering was pretty good. so fair play to him.

theres so much negativity that a forum post can bring up.....and I guess solid proof of the pudding is the answer! Simply let the music do the talking!.....cos at the end of the day , thats what the customer pays for , they don't pay to look good on forums!

Thanks to the guy above , A / B testing free mastered clips with others companies is deffo the way forward......then take it from

I honestly can't see any positives in being honest about being a thief.

I'm full on out and out legit and worked hard and did myself a great deal of stress to get there, to know a competitor is essentially stealing from inside the industry speaks great volumes about your legitimacy as a person, let alone an engineer.

I am surprised no one has sent something through to me for at least a comparison
against Tek's work. I suppose he is working with a very specific part of the market.
