They should start giving away dubstep allstars vol 2 & 3 at noise parties.
On a serious note; yes, it's getting quite embarassing how many people think they're listening to dubstep while they're actually listening to unoriginal crap.
You may call it noise because that's how it sounds.

after a night playing out me and a mate sat down and chatted about the night - we found that when we were playing out about 3 or 4 years ago we'd get loads of people coming up saying "what's this music/tune/artist?" however over the last few years it's changed from people asking what we play to telling us what to play.
not sure how relevant that is, but i thought it was an interesting point.

What goes against this though, is there is a lot of fierce tracks jumping on this wagon, and its diluting the decent side of tear-out. The quality of some of what ive heard over the past 8 weeks...well there isnt any. - Will there will be a requirement for the BIG FWD & DMZ soundsystems?.....coz this screaming sound doesnt appear to include much bottom end, infact it probably does;you just cant hear it.....(lol)
i agree its good to play some still, just a whole set full of it means playin a hard track means it loses its impact and starts to grate. i've gotta say tho imo, some big djs are playin pure tearout sets that are just (or almost) as bad as the 'bandwagon jumpers'. true u need the bottom end!
ignore me if im chattin nonsense cos im bit drunk. also Darkside please play Ground Zero Vocal on radio again soon!!!!!

i think theres a lot of "filth" coming from all over. the US seems to be one of its biggest exporter (or North America, I should say).
i really like what was said above: DJs should be educators to a certain extent. i help run a monthly party in the middle of Iowa. needless to say, people around here are uneducated about dance music PEROID, let alone the specific offshoots of dubstep.
i play alongside a good friend of mine who plays a lot of wobble "bangers..." therefore, i play the deeper/more 2stepy side. people do dance to my friends sets much more, but at the end of the day, at least i know ive exposed them to something different!

in concord....sub-prominent ds without distracting noise
but I can appreciate Boring's view & commitment

I fucking despise clownstep so in order to avoid it I do not attend events, listen to tracks, or listen to mixes by clownstep artists. If artists I once liked start playing music I don't enjoy, I tend to stop listening to them.
this isn't an excuse any more, you simply can't get away from this style.
I'm not really sure why you have to "get away" from a style...
because it's cheap and generic, it's mediocre and it's not representative at all of why i fell in love with dubstep in the first place.
and i just don't like it.
if you don't like a certain type of food, you try to avoid it, because why eat something you don't enjoy?
talk about wah wah whiney stnuc.. listen to what you like, dont listen to what you dont.. stop being a hater. there is obviously a reason ppl like the noise shit as you call it.. if everyone made dubstep you liked then some other tnuc would be in here complaining (probably me)

Completely agree 100% here. The problem with so many of these tunes now is that the lack some serious sub bass, and well for me personally, those deep deep basslines of the earlier dubstep is what got me hooked and plenty of tunes lack the low end.

Lol this seems to always be the same repeated argument against what people are trying to say here. It isn't quite as simple as just not listening to it.
its true about the 'bandwagon jumpers' perfect example... couple of years back i was listening to dubstepwarz breezeblock and my mates who dj now, at the time were saying it was complete shit, boring music and it will never take off. Check back with them now, they are all spinning this 'brostep', jumping around, waving their arms, looking like complete morons. mind you before they jumped on the trend they were mixing the most un-godly cheesiest electro known to man. I would not even dare post an example of one of those electro tunes

to be honest, there seems to be quite alot of weight behind the this 'noise' is shit argument, and alot of voices in agreement
the only defense ive really seen is 'if you dont like it dont listen to it'.... not really a denial of the above though is it
please can a 'brostepper' add a better defence of this extreme style of jump up, ill get you started-
"well its an organic, endlessly diverse, intelligently produced, pioneering style with infinite evolution to turn wub wub wub, into wob wob screech"
AMEN to this Darkside. Too many producers are simply trying to shout loudest... without actually saying anything. And too many people with a knee-jerk defence reaction, thinking 'noise' in itself is being criticized... it isn't - there are some great tunes produced that grime it up.
