I've said before but I love the DJ Baku Poison Dart Megamix, which has some brilliantly executed turntable tricks + FX. I reckon there's a lot like that which could be done with acapellas over dubstep.l

R.A.W. aka 6BLOCC took his ass out a couple years ago in a battle here in Cali. ^6BLOCC kills it with the turntablism skills on dubstep, ask anyone from Cali ;)
6BLOCC definitely. he gave out a public mix for d/l just before xmas last year, sure you can still find it to d/l.

This man has some sick sick sick skills and he aint bad at writing a decent tune either

and I aint from Cali but from NZ...

I managed to make a wobble scratching a sound from an old Pharcyde record, played it over some N-Type, worked alright.

Im quiet neew here so here is my 50pence worth.

"By and large, turntablism has no place in the world of dubstep." Paulie: you are a spanner...

"In extremely small doses, maybe. In practice it usually takes over whatever form of music it's originally intended to enhance." Paulie:

What you on about mate???

"
Err my only gripe is it takes a bit of practice to get your skratching tempo from 95-105bpm to 135-145bpm..

little bits e.g. 1 click flare or tears + echo/delay fx sounds pretty sweet over minimalist beats. less is more an all that." Borg:

Scratch slower not faster, thats probably why Paulie thinks it sounds shit.

"the dj from portishead is a sick turntablist" DJ Slums: the DJ from portishead is fucking shite..... unless your on about the place and not the band. In which case i probably aint heard him.

"ps...Im still dying to hear Q-Bert do a collabo with DMZ one of these days. That would be one spaced out tune!" Tha Megatron: I doubt you will hear Q-Bert doing music again because he is shit a doing music. He didnt make ove 60% of his own album and the best track was made by D-Styles and Q only cut on it.

"i like doin' tricks
but most dubstep sounds better when it's "pure"
could give it a try though one of these days ." Dustrikx: Agreed!

Thats my thoughts on that..... Peace to Loz, still need to send you some bits to play mate. Holik, you the same asis chap who's into his CV's and Gates?

At the end of the day if something anything is done well its good and if its done badly well its not good really is it.

Got NozL's album on the Technics right now for the first time. Absolutely outstanding stuff, a perfect lesson in turntablism at this tempo - and totally fresh as wellll.... really like the jazz cutups in a Krush / Kid Koala style.
