@jakerobert

I like it, the drums could do with a bit more straight forwardness but the melodys are great and so is the sense of space I would work on making the drums a bit more different and switch it up a bit more.

Big track though!

P.S

Ive listened to everything else on the same page as my tune and without sounding like a dickhead, those ain't my sorta style and I can't give valid feedback to em because its a bit to noisy for me, I will post feedback for people after me, if I can give some points.

Heres something I have been working on

The intro on this song is too long tbh, needs to add some more variation to the drums, you got the basics down but it can be improved greatly. Add some sub-bass in if you hadn't already. :)

Great btw, needs a better mixdown though since it gets hectic at some points, really liking the nintendo esque synths.

But untl thats over, a little tune im working on :D

(Im not sure what genre it is)

nothing mixed etc, shit pops all over the show, just trying to get an idea down. :D feedback coming back as soon as Im home.
Sounds like a mix of Electro and some other genre, love the drums really catchy although I would say bring in some more elements in sooner so it makes it more interesting for the listener, good start though.

That first drop is spot on mate, really hits you in the face. The intro is really mellow if you like, nice and chilled then BOOM! Only thing i picked out mate is maybe the snare could do with a bit more punch? maybe layer it with clap or something, not that im one to critisise. But overall mate really enjoyed it! :D

@J-One: Those are works in progress? I think I kinda loathe, yet envy you at the same time right now. Good stuff.

@Samkablaam: That was very different, and very enjoyable. I think I've actually seen that video. I really should put more time into learning the guitar.

@Jayzest: A bit repetitive but the use of variating percussions took a lot of that repetitive feel away from the main melody of the track. Cheers on that. I love all those percussions you used.

@Tripwire: I love to switch it up every now and then and listen to some other genres that I just never seem to put enough time into that I wish I did sometimes. I've always been amazed by the breaks in DnB and wish I could create them myself but I'm never good at programing my drums. Anyway, Solid track. If that's just a work in progress I have a feeling the finished product will be excellent.

@Deranger: I really like the chilled out vibe in your track. I've been really into this stuff lately. It feels very minimal but sometimes minimal is exactly what you're looking for when you just want to relax. I do think that the bass stabs could use a bit of variation. Sounds like they are very on beat and only hit with the drums. Would be nice to hear some independent stabs without the kicks to just kinda give a bit of bass chaos in a sense.

@Imperial: A bit annoying to be honest. Some of those really high pitched sounds really pierce the ear a bit too much. It's not bad every once in awhile but they play quite often. Needs quite a bit of mixing still. There's lots of unnecessary distortion being carred over from the bass to other sounds like some of your percussion. I'm all for dirty but I guess I'm just more of a, controlled cleanliness on my dirt, kinda person if that makes any sense.

@Sirius: Not exactly sure what you're going for on this track. The percussions are very low. Almost inaudible at times with the louder bass notes. If that's what you're going for then You've definitely achieved that. It's got a great chilled out feel though and I dig that.

I tried To get as much as I could in with the few minutes I've given myself. Gotta go pick up the paycheck and pay "The Man" before they shut my shit off.

I just got around to finally rendering my current layout of what I have so far on this track. It's been a slow process with this one. I actually started working on this back in may. Just one of those things where you got this thing in your head and no matter how you lay it down there's just something not right.

I've been painstakingly fighting with this melody trying to keep it from clashing with other sounds I've put together for the other elements of the track. I've been able to actually, for the first time, get a melody from my head into my DAW and have it sound almost exactly how I'm hearing it. Problem is the other stuff is the part I'm having trouble with this time around. Usually it's the melody that I can't get out right but everything else comes out pretty well.

Pretty much just a rough draft of the first portion of the track.

Likely story haha, just be honest with the fact you trawled through pages of redtube vids in the hope of finding the right sample
I heard Skream was banging a filipino prostitute to get those samples

Pros:
-Well mixed
-Good snares
-Bass is definitely unique
-Filthy!

Cons:
-Needs more build-up on the drop-- it kind of just drops in, there's not a lot of warning. This is especially a problem for the double-time drop near the end. If you're going to get away with doing something this atonal there's got to be more build.

Not really my thing-- I like stuff a little more melodic-- but there's definitely an audience for this and it's a pretty well-produced track on the technical front. You just need to sort out the structure so there aren't so many jarring transitions. If you need inspiration, try putting the intro beeps in again after the first pause, then go to the second part of the drop after that-- that would be a good starting point. You shouldn't feel like you have to stick to a certain structure but intro-drop-intro-build-drop makes the song a lot easier to skank to.

Pros:
-You absolutely nailed the early dubstep feel
-Drums are superb, and remain interesting throughout the whole track
-Great spaced-out vibes
-Loving the jungle-y bass

Cons:
-Needs some more variation

I know it's a WIP but you've only got a short intro and the first drop, and the track doesn't really develop much. Just keep doing what you've been doing and you'll have a superb final product in no time!

Pros:
-Excellent sub work
-Nice use of noises
-Very chilled but still manages to have some decent momentum-- I didn't check the time on the track until the annoying synth came in at 2:30, and if it wasn't for that I probably would've let the whole thing play out.

Cons:
-Not feeling the synth that comes in at 2:30. It's atonal and jarring and it detracts from the overall vibe
-Could use more layers-- it's a tad repetitive. It works as it is but if you added a bit more it would make it better.

I really dig this track-- it's very nearly done. Just get rid of that atonal synth, or put in something for melodious, or just move it a little further back in the mix. Also, maybe consider using more automation-- I reckon this track would benefit from some gradual shifts in the main sounds, like the noise-lead or the sub-bass. Other than that though I'm really liking this. GJ

Oh yes

Ok so now that I've got my 3 feedback posts out of the way, on to the TUNEAGE! I've got a ton of new tracks up on my soundcloud since the last time I posted, so please peruse and have a listen, but I wanted to focus on two new tracks in particular.

The first one is quite different from my usual sound, so I'm really interested in getting feedback on this one. It's got kind of a free-form structure and I use a lot of sounds I haven't really worked with before, but I think the result is pretty encouraging. And yes, it's 4 minutes and 20 seconds, so you know what that means :-D

Soundcloud

And secondly here's a new banger that's a lot more similar to my other stuff, but still different enough to be fresh:

Soundcloud

Massive ups to all those who comment.

@ NeonOrdnance the 2nd tune you've got down there.

Sounding really good. That synth that comes in for the little melody sounds way too loud, even sounds like its distorting. Have that tucked just under the bass I think, still loud enough to hear, but not so woah in your face.
Apart from that I think that drop is pretty cool dude.

I've got 1 tune (Sorry it's a youtube link) It's crap quality, damn you youtube. My soundcloud wont let me upload anymore, just doesn't start uploading :(
This tune is more Ambient Dubstep. Really quite relaxed, alot of elements, experienced a bit more in sidechaining in this one to get things to fit.
