Re: Screen Shots! Get them out!!!
OOOOO i got it
The different parts of the sub are on 3 different channels. That's still abit odd for me, i would have has the sub baseline one one channel but yeah.
This is not me criticizing you, its just me pounding... haha

Re: Screen Shots! Get them out!!!
This thread is making me realise I really don't have enough channels in my songs!!! Must er...somehow get on that.
Anyway I'll post a pic of my appalling screenies later so you can all have a chuckle at my ineptitude XD (and maybe i'll squeeze some pointers out of some people
)
Everyones projects are looking really professional by the way, it's very interesting to see how different DAWs look all padded out like that.

Re: Screen Shots! Get them out!!!
These channels aren't aux tracks, they are audio tracks that have been split, and the subs in them are slightly different as they are from 3 different bass sounds. So to level them all i have to treat each one individually, then i bussed the whole lot together... blah blah blahnitz wrote:OOOOO i got it![]()

I don't see what you can possibly change on a sub, to treat each sub a bit different..., or for that change to be able to be identified :S Maybe its because am a Reason user haha.Depone wrote:These channels aren't aux tracks, they are audio tracks that have been split, and the subs in them are slightly different as they are from 3 different bass sounds. Other then the volume for the sub depending on the note it hit, to keep the level consistent. Although you could just change to velocity or compress to counter act that problem

Sub bass, doesn't always mean a separate sine subnitz wrote:I don't see what you can possibly change on a sub, to treat each sub a bit different..., or for that change to be able to be identified :S Maybe its because am a Reason user haha.Depone wrote:These channels aren't aux tracks, they are audio tracks that have been split, and the subs in them are slightly different as they are from 3 different bass sounds. Re: Screen Shots! Get them out!!!
I can't resist a chance to demonstrate Reaper slaying the competition haha!
Working on a new track.

Using the tempo synced preview window to audition a loop on the fly.

Editing a sample and applying an effect directly to the edited portion of the loop.

Tweaking the arrangement and setting the master bus compression levels.

Damned, Reaper makes it so easy to knock together new tracks. I genuinely feel sorry for all you suckers using Poobase, Clunky Loops and Reshnooze haha!
Reaper ftw....
Ps, My dad is Ryu... Your Argument is Invalid.

Re: Screen Shots! Get them out!!!
Here is a 230 of the track being made in the screenshots above.
It's a bit sloppy as this was a mess around track. I just needed an excuse to take the screenshots above...

Re: Screen Shots! Get them out!!!
Have you got blockfish on the master bus there?? I have it on my comp but have literally never used it :s Personally I quite like reaper but only because I can carry it around with me with a load of samples half the time just incase i need to produce somewhere random!
My usual setup is reason with it's head up abletons ass..

Re: Screen Shots! Get them out!!!
Blockfish is one of the best freeware character compressors available. It can add serious beef to sounds with its built in saturation and 'complex' mode.
On this occasion I did put it on the master. It seemed to give everything a touch more 'bite' (for lack of a better description). Blockfish is easy to overdo on the master however!
Note to everyone, download Blockfish and try it on some basslines or drums.

Re: Screen Shots! Get them out!!!
It's so funny how the DAW's look so different but essentially are the exact same thing

Re: Screen Shots! Get them out!!!
Cannot stand the reaper, logic, ableton daws with their one screen design. Shit is retarded. People have more screen real estate then ever before and the ui designers are smashing everything into one screen. And you end up with little tiny arrange areas. That shit is so claustrophobic, I don't know how you lot get along.

@nowaysj
I think you delusional sir the all one screen design is clearly the greatest thing ever

Re: Screen Shots! Get them out!!!
Look at that live pic... that arrange area is less than a 1/4 of the total screen real estate. It's like working on a 4 foot squared painting, but having to look at it through a shoe box, ridiculous. Anybody that sees this as progress is lost to me.
