if someone sends a tune (or batch of a dozen tunes) and I don't comment, and then keeps sending more tunes-- that's spam.

hit up the PERSON first, sharing your tune comes second.

yeah i never hit people up randomly just to share tunes seems wrong. though im ok with spaming on forums

you should see my aim folder when i used to leave it signed on 24/7 and always on auto accept
people would just not even say hi or anything just send like 10 tunes in a row. like even if there's an away message at least leave some sort of introduction or something

Sure, mala, pinch and others may not be dangling promoters out of 4th story windows to get their bills... but that's what they have booking agents/managers for. I think plastician still does his own dangling tho, TBH

I'm not sure about any dangling out of windows, but I've had the same agent as Mala and Pinch for a good year or two longer than they've been with her.

i don't post much up online or spam about for comments either, but just got approached by an artist management and booking agent last week
love getting slept on and spending time working on my music rather than spamming and photoshoots and image

half the time you're lucky to even see earning statements from labels, let alone getting said earnings

Mate, just because you're page exists, doesn't mean people will just flock to it.
You've gotta be more active around places like soundcloud, listen to other people's stuff, give feedback, they'll check your stuff out, maybe tell a few friends, the word will spread from there..

I think if you're confident enough about punting your music to the masses then go for it, fire it to as many labels as possible!!

I'm just waiting for the day when I'm happy enough with my tunes (Which will probably be when they're polished up to the hills and I'm about 40...!).

Just find the big names and fire across, if they're good enough someone will pick it up - it's just being sure that they are good enough in the first place which is the dilemma!
