Whats the craziest thing you have ever witnessed?

not as exciting as some peoples, but when that oil place blew up in bunsfield or wherever it was, getting woken up by the explosion shaking my house then looking out the window and seeing the orange glow and fire flashing on the horizon was pretty weird

I live in Hemel Hempstead, where it happened.. smashed windows and everything

umm got several fucked up stories from when i lived in kenya though, one time my dad was walking down the street, a guy walking next to him got shot in the head, another time a white elderly woman who lived on a farm near us got beaten robbed and gang raped by like 6 guys, she was 50/60 years old.

i saw a man hit by a taxi outside the university in manchester. his body flew the breadth of the road and sounded like a car hitting a wheelie bin. the sounds of people screaming were blood curdling.

not me but a girl from my class told me this story, of a middle ages knights battle play,
where there was a fight between the actors, and some guys had real swords and stabbed this one guy they were angry at to death in front of all these little children thinking it was a play all along.
years after her mother told her they actually killed the guy when they stabbed him trough the eye

saw a P-51 Mustang smash nose first into the ground at the Biggin Hill Airshow a few years back, fucking brutal crash

thinking about it, any new yorkers win that one. 911 is still just about the most surreal/scary/crayziest thing ive ever seen on the tv, let alone being there.

the cigarette thing reminds me:

mate chucked a cricket ball from 40 metres or so
dunno why but

but reading the Baron's post reminded me of something similar in Burma:
walking down a back lane in Rangoon
come to an emaciated woman slumped against a fence,
too weak to even look up,
as I walk past her I see a skeletal baby wrapped in her shawl
they had absolutely nothing & death seemed imminent.

I kept walking & it has haunted me since...
should I have "rescued" her baby?
should I have done everything possible to save her?
amongst all the poverty and deprivation in Asia,
all the suffering in African droughts,
here was my chance to help an individual
and i didn't.

in a sense
it's the craziest thing that i've witnessed
because it turned me a bit crazy with regret.
