in fact i'd argue that staying in an apartment for outlook would offer more croatian immersion. proximity to pula (most festival campers didn't leave the festival site once from what i saw), independent days to explore the surrounding area, more interaction with locals rather than the 95% UK camping crowd....
Me and my lass got really friendly with the locals where we were and they seemed quite sad when we had to leave...was a great experience! We also saw more of Croatia than if we stayed just solely in the campsite.

We are planning on taking a 2 week holiday next year actually, a week in Croatia and a week in Italy.

If you want to be totally immersed in the festival then camping is by far the best way. true you may feel like your going mad after four days of bass from the beach but it is so worth it. Showers and facilities at the campsite are really good some nice little shops on there as well.
Never felt it was too cold at night but it did get very hot at around 9 if you were not in the shade but then you just crawl out of your tent and fall asleep again :)
this! and i agree on the fact that u go to outlook not to bade in comfort, i loved the camping, didnt have it cold at night, cause we werent sleeping at night??!! ok maybe 1 time i got to sleep at 2 oclock a night, but didnt have cold, and could sleep through the music in the morning, beach party only started at 12 oclock, sleeping till 1 oclock in the midday was perfect.. u gotta enjoy the afternoons too u know :)

and there were def enough shaded places, nough trees around on the camping, this is not ur average camping, its really big!

i'm glad i stayed at the camping this year and def going to camp again nxt year.. wouldnt trade it for an appartment, mostly cause of the atmosphere, if u want u can even drop ur tent in front of the sea, imagine waking up in front of the adriatic sea! brilliant!

u could buy very cheap tents on the camping itself, some friends of us bought some over there.
they didnt survive the festival though :p, but it was so cheap, so was okay.
