One of South Park's jobs is to comment on popular culture, so a bit of knowing what's going on helps. I had no idea in the Jersey episode, but it was still understandable enough to be funny as fuck.

It used to be part of an otherwise funny episode, now it seems to be 1 joke over and over that makes up an entire episode.

It still has its moments, but doesn't really compare to the old ones I think.

south park is so disappointing, ever since season 12 i barely crack a smile. =/

did they get a whole new set of writers or something? also, i really don't think trey's heart is in this anymore.

I watched a doc last night on the making of the new episodes.
It was quite interesting and funny.
They did quite a bit on the HumancentiPad.

I dunno about a whole new set, but they have hired a couple over the last year or 2. I think the newest one was Bill Hader from SNL & random teen movies. I don't think he's funny at all. Totally agree about Trey though, I think maybe he is afraid to shut it down. They got a whole company with dozens of workers so that definitely creates some obligation/pressure to keep signing the contracts.

Shit episode imo, but American football fans might get a kick out of it.

To be fair, Trey states uncategorically in this doc I watched that he thinks the new episodes are the worst they've ever made.

Yeah the 6 Days to Air doc was cool, they should do one of those every season.

Last episode was pretty great I think, one of the better ones of the last couple of years. The Fatty Doo Doo obese America one.
Never seen that damn honey boo boo show, yet I still know way too much about it from everyone and their dog discussing it. That's so not right.
