i agree with some of the points (soundsystem wasn't exactly booming, the idiots that were there - thankfully i just ignored them otherwise my night may have ended EARLY) but the worst part for me was nearly not getting in as i lost my ticket on the walk up to whp :u:
as 4 the moshing - the way i see it, if im not involved then im not bothered. i just wana dance with my mates or with a gal n just generally enjoy myself.

probs will go back to whp in 2011 (lineup depending) but i need to go to Exodus or Subdub soon

EDIT: i would be really surprised if the crowd was a bit 'aggy' for modeselektor

absolutely... I hope this kinda stuff doesn't reach over here in Oz, if I wanted a moshpit I'd still be playing in a death metal band innit

I was excited about kode9 (didn’t even realise that Joker wasn't playing - was he a last min replacement? - although I did notice on Jokers MySpace that this night wasn’t an appearance) as I was hoping he would bring it down to a more skanking vibe but I agree with all of the above about it being a let down and very housey -

It was far too busy - we got there at just after 11 and it was rammed got progressively worse, there was a massive empty when magnetic man finished but it was still hammered

mala, coki and pokes were quality, especially when horrid was dropped and the lights came on but the system was shit

agree the crowd has gotten worse every year and far to aggy but not too many options when most of the good nights are on a school night, I realise there is obviously a huge student market in Manchester but does anyone agree we need more options on a weekend - factory and hit and run seem to be pulling in some quality line ups but they are a Monday and a Thursday night......
good to see digital but the crowd was awful
Completely agree with the bolded its fuckin well annoying.

It seems the promotors in manchester only want to cator for students nowadays.

Can't see any moshing going on here, though shit sound seems to be a recurring theme, and not one that should occur when a ticket is £17.50 at best.
im sitting here in tears because this is fucking sold out

I aint been WHP in two years and judging by some of the reviews in this thread I'm kind of Glad I didnt get tickets to this as it would spoil my memories of the place.

I remember watchin Andy C about 3 years ago an it was one of the best nights of my life, soundsystem was wicked from what I could remember (a big improvement on the Boddingtons one anyway) but doubt I will be hitting one again any time soon
