You know for all the time i've read/posted on this forum i've seen many, many alpacas. In fact i've grown to quite like them.

But I still don't get why people post them.

Is it a dig at someone? Randomness? Or purely for the love of the alpaca?
The way I remember it is people kept spelling Acappella wrong which soon morphed into Alpaca which became a DSF meme for FAIL!

This thread is JOKES! Thin sounding??? Hahahahaha... Excision and especially Datsik are not my first rated cuppa tea, but they are cups, and good ones at that.

Facts: their production skills are beyond questioning. They're good, I think we can agree on this. They are successful. Their marketing AND production skills are both top notch. They are BOTH really nice, tolerant, and patient.

It's really really easy guys. You don't like em? Don't read the threads and play the tracks. Simples....

And if you wanna be just like em, set your HAM VST to the Datcision patch and put in some work. :5:

Now, back to trying to make teh yuh yuh bass... how do i make teh wobblez again? -q-

I dispute this claim because I have made sounds almost Identical to those in albino.

Even those guys will tell you there wavetable synths, resampled and automate to fuck and back, layered up with tons of mechanical sounds and sweeps. Its not synthesis alone, the layering is really what makes them on the money, but, the synth work is definately half the battle, IDK how else you think youd make those other then a synth -w-

So lets see everyones best attempts, I was serious when I said that haha. If your in this thread on the calling them out side, you gotta prove you can do it.

I get fair close with about no automation or layering, and I never got hooked on resampling, I'll back this up with a quick loop in a few.

yeah I believe you haha, but 'close' and 'there' are two different things, and if you lsiten to the tunes with a more crritical ear, everythings layered up, you just convince yourself it isnt and it makes synthesizing harder for you haha.

Why anyone would wanna get "there" and actually apply it anywhere is beyond me, better to get halfway there and then wank on the sound yourself IMHO.

Not gonna lie that sounds simpler than it really is, but even saying that, it's pretty elementary shit man. I've got tons of patches like this saved up that make different vowel sounds and shit, all straight out of albino just using envelopes and onboard effects. I mean people flip shit about it, but the sounds aren't exactly stupid hard to get in the direct ballpark of, it's harder to use them in a way that works IMHO and that's where Datsik gets it.

Doesn't fit with my style at all, I just think they sound really neat and that if I keep making them, one day I'll get asked to do a transformers movie...

I just clicked the first patch in my "robot farts" patch folder and laid out a riff, but I'm glad I got not quite as opposed to not at all.
