That wasn't the question. Just because its not your sort of music doesn't make it poor..... Some people probably listen to Mala and think hes repetative. Why comment on a thread you have no interest in

i can see why people that like certain artists would get annoyed but plenty of people slate anything that isnt hypa overly aggy yoyoyo type stuff...everyones got their view

biggest distinction i can draw is that the people into dmz/kryptic minds/youngsta etc that 'hate' on that style tend to have heard a lot more dubstep of varying styles and thus base their views on that whereas the people into the other stuff saying wheres the drops/bass/this is too slow etc dont tend to know much about dubstep as a whole

i think the hype has its place personally but i prefer people like 501/lost/coki/jakes/akira kiteshi/hizzle guy etc as i feel they are innovators

they make the sounds they want to make (which any producer can tell you is fucking hard),
thats the main point with jump up these days, obviously it wont justify the sound to some people, but thats what i like about it.
im really into building synths these days and when you hear a new datsik track, hes always raising the bar in terms of synths.
however, being a big fan of both sides of dubstep, i kinda wish the canadians spent more time on perfectin sub.
im not sayin there songs have no sub, if they didnt i wouldnt play it out live, but i mean you look at people like Loefah, Ruckspin, Mala, Pinch etc. there subs sit in the backround of the mix but still remain the most prominent, and thats a hard craft to perfect!
Finally someone with the same views as me! Yeah most filth/brostep has huge spl on the sub but its not warm like DMZ. The sub is only there to make the music more powerful, not ad melody. I am a fan of filth etc but nights are not the same. Too many kids on drugs moshing imo (well the clubs near me anyway)

I gotta give it to Datsik. He's personally my favorite out of the two, although I do rate Downlink tunes too.

Exactly Pistons...totally agree. Hype, when done right and with some integrity sits well in a set.

excision & downlink over the stupid ridiculous "filth" thats out there now..

2005 track is decent, dont really like the synth though, the sub and drums are nice.. would be cool to hear what is forthcoming on.

can't fuck with either of there production skills

i think they both have a signature sound, you can tell a datsik/downlink tune as soon as the bass drops, same for excision and liquid stranger.

as for the vote ruckspin/addison groove or joker

Agree with this for sure. But, just cuz they like it doesn't mean they have to hate right? -q-
