@cubicle: really sick atmosphere i wish i could make one like that. im also loving the hi hats they give a nice feel to the track... theres not really anything that i would change in it
@filthy: i like this track and like you said the transition to the dance part feels a little off...i feel like something simple like a reverse crash or riser would work nice. overall its a pretty good tune.
@kayadubz:this is sick i love those bass sounds...im also loving the vocal samples really nice job so far man i liked this alot

heres something i started working on, im trying to make a little dub track and wanted to get some feedback before i kept working on it. lemme know what you think! :corndance:

@Brex Sounding nice mate, maybe just a LITTLE muddy, then again thats probably on my side... The snare that starts hitting at around 12seconds seems like it needs to be turned down just a tad, with slightly more reverb on it. Just my opinion.

thanks! i actually updated it a bit and changed a few things. the lead into the drop is still not 100% but its better. ive been working on the volume levels and a whole shit load of failed attempts at EQing. some parts sound like theyre coming out of a fish tank for some reason now :? maybe my mind is fried from working on this basically non stop since last night haha. ill bounce it, upload it. comment other people stuff and post the update here after i take a break

thanks everyone for the feed back! :)

@ Dublicks That intro is a bit random tbh.
Notes also sound way off the beat.
Seems like you just took some cool sounding loops and sounds and blended them together.
Can't really comment much considering I'm feeling you're pretty new to producing.
Read up some thread around here, experiment a bit more and get those notes right.
Don't give up, I feel that big things will come from you!

what track were you talking about ?

if your talking bout tht feel it it was a live sess jus messing around really
Neither or the dubstep tracks have any loops in tho!

@Dublicks I'm quite feeling that tune "feel-it" ironically enough :D
Sounds nice, think the drums need just a tad more verb on them tho, and i'd like to hear a different snare. Needs more to it tho, sounds real empty right now, but the basics are there man.
edit: like the synth that comes in at 1:50, but it sort of just hits you haha, needs to build to it a little more, either with a drop or by automating the volume on it, and making it rise. Also, turn it up a bit! :D

Don't mean to be rude, but care to explain? I didnt post a track there, I left a comment for Cubicle. When I did post my track I only left 1 feedback because that's all the new tracks that were uploaded since I last posted, where I had left 3 feedback messages.
Apologies dude - at the start of the thread I thought I saw you just put a track up then said "leave comments later" Pet hate of mine on these threads :P

@@amphibian::
thanks for the input. yea i feel i cant get my drums sounding right in that tune either. sorry those wobbles are overdone for you. hope its just a personal taste thing. i agree they are a little 'light'.. somethin im workin on! but i feel like the way they play off eachother is somewhat original/unique and might have some potential..

as for your tracks, the remix is too dope. sounds solid. love the snare and rim shot. hats have a nice shuffle to them. i really like the way your leads resonate and play off the sweeps. good suttle lfo here and there. sounds great for this style!
and for evolve, intro is sick. the panned clicking is great. love the bass drop. tunes are really good man. would love to hear more.

would love if you could give another track or two a listen. theyre more your style

just needs some bass work

cubicle - the wobbles are too bottom heavy, bring out the mid range just a little bit more and it would be money! other than that little bit its amazing. very well put together, the dynamics are perfect and its easy to listen to.

nnny - same comment but im loving this bass/sub bass even more now :e:

kayadubz - haha that drop is wild, im loving it! im also really feelin the vocals directly between the drops. the mix between the clean and distorted/filthy basses is a perfect balance even my girlfriend is jivin to it (shes a tough critic, unfortunately). to sum it up - BRILLIANT! :n:

heres the most recent update. although right now its half the length of my last tune, its 10x better (in my opinion anyway).

@filty_ cheers for the comment bud, gave yours a listen now. Like it, lots of space in it, the drums seem just a tad slow to me, more so in the start just, but i understand there needs to be variety. The hats are nice, helps it flow along nicely. Liking all the blips and glitchy sort of sounds thrown in too. Can't comment too much on the bass, everyone sleeping so I can't have volume up much, and no headphones. Ill give it a listen and reply with more tomorrow.

@ nnny - your latest wip - nice intro im liking the drop at 55secs... the general mix sounds sweet to me - nice work
@ Brex - off to a good start obviously its early days but im not feeling the kick so much - liking the vibe tho and cant wait to see what you do with this one

Heres mine i think im almost done but wanna know what you all think ?

@Kayadubs Tune1: - The tune has good vibes, It feels very dry however, try setting up a reverb and delay send and that percussion gelling together. Perhaps mix the bass up a little also and maybe a bit work to fill the gaps in the intro (I personally think heavy delay and very tails will be enough to do that.

@Kayadubs Tune2: - Alot cleaner than your first track, sounds mixed well, good use of little increments, I think this is the kind of style that works best for you.

@Filthy_: - From a creative perspective its a nice piece, but for me it seems to be lacking drive, It sounds like one chord from start to finish and that melodic element feels lacking. The sounds are nice, I think the arrangement and composition could do with a little work.

sniperDUBB: intro is cool, threw me off at first thought it was going to drop into trance. drop is interesting. definitely not the typical yo yo yo stuff, but im not sure if this meant to be deep or brosteppy stuff. drums are pretty sick tho.

nny: like the delay on that piano, pretty sweet. that snare doesnt sit right with me, imo iw ouldnt have any reverb on it or id pitch it higher. drop into that really fuzzy bassline was pretty cool tho. whole track feels like an intro tho. id try varying things up maybe?? cool ideas as usual tho

filthy_: was really likin the dark vibes in the beginning. the lil house part was pretty cool, especially the drop back into the dubstep. this song is pretty heavy tho, not sure if i'ts my headphones but some parts could be mixed down a little better. lovin the ideas in it tho

ok i may or may not completely change this track

but check it anyway (:

@nylle: - Nice vibes, I think it can do with out that subtle subby pushing noise you have panned to the left, and bring the wobble more forward in the mix, to me it just seems lacking that midrange element (Im not an advocate of harsh wobbles in your face but in this case I feel it could add whats missing. Just up the levels a couple DB on that synth.

Okay so here it is - my current wip. As stated in the description of the tune I've spent more time on this small section of music than any of my previous whole tracks.

I'm not entirely happy with the bassline melody, but the overall feeling and vibe I"m going for is there. There's also a lot of "filling out" I need to do of the tune in general.

Keen to hear people's thoughts.

Cheers for the feedback everyone - phybian ill hit u up when im done - i fi ever get round to it!

@cubicle - im with you on the whole over complicated thing, ive been doin the same, just tryin to get workflow fast and comin up with better results! your tune sounds nice, likin the drums and the pads in the intro all builds up nicely. i like the bass line, however, think it needs to be a bit more subtle so as to gel with the rest of the track. It could have maybe a faster shaker or something to drive the track along at points and a few random sounds along the way to fill it up - nice tune overall tho man

@phybian - drums are on point man - fuckin sick infact - as is your sound selection, as you said the synths all fit together nicely. The progressions good, simple yet effective. Just not feelin the bassline man. i dont like the tune the bassline plays, the sounds nearly there, however the sub and the mid sound too seperate they need to feel more like one sound. with that remedied though the bass noise wud be sick, the mid range attack is wicked. Look forward to hearing the finished version.

Thanks man, I'm super super happy with the drums. It needs more variation but, and probably a few more things just to fill it out a bit more. I totally agree with the bass melody, it's probably going to get scrapped - but the synths themselves - I'm happy with those. Interesting you point being too separate - I thought they were pretty close, but obviously there's too much missing. I'll fill it out a bit more in the next update. Thanks again man, exactly the kind of feedback I need :)

@amphibian - yeh i agree with ^^ the percussion, kicks n snares are pretty good but ur bassline melody aint doing it for me. n maybe some more modulation with the sound itself to really take control and have some uniqueness would be good. proper jamming track tho

@nylie - pretty sick..love the drum fills u got goin on, wobbles are a lil too behind atm, n for me the drum fills are a lil loud compared to ur main bass melody. it sort of jumps volumes for me, but real nice melody, feeling this one!

@sniperDubb - intro was cool, but a lil long for me..ended up sounding a little droning by the time it dropped. with the drop, wasnt that bad at all..but i think the main part just lacks a lil structure and direction for me. As said before not sure what flavour ur going for...but some good ideas thrown in!

I made this over the last day or 2 n really feeling it...although its not my normal style, in fact my normal style is dnb lol but oh well, here it is:

any time man! i know the drums are a bit slow, i wanted the intro to be very low key but i think i over did it as it feels that was in other parts as well. and im not sure if i did mention it as you said you couldnt comment on it. i was editing/mixing around all last night on an older set of head phones (i let my girlfriend use my good ones. what was i thinking?) and i knew it was odd when i made it so my sub bass line was audible through iphone head phones :o i just sat down at my deck now to hear it through my monitors and even at a low volume the desk is shaking. oh boy.

thank you. ive kind of felt the same way about some parts. im going to fiddle with the basses a bit. i think its because its so bottem heavy right now, the mid range doesnt stand out as much as it should

i agree. i am having a little bit of trouble mixing it down but once i get it im sure the balance will be much better. im just a stubborn ass and wont ask for help hahah

thanks for the comments everyone, i really appreciate it! hopefully when i get home later ill be able to get a little bit done. can anyone give me some quick info? how would i turn the low end down (EQ obviously) while still having a decent/slightly noticeable sub bass?

if its ur sub thats got too much low end just turn it down, or limit it a lil..
if its ur bass synth, then a high pass filter or a sharp cut in the low end would help
or you could split the sound into low/high freqs and deal with each part separately = more control over the sound :) thats imo neway
