...... ahhh i well this is my final post on this before i give up on this subject. Some of you responded intelligently and i thank you for that :)
kizza2435 wrote:OP, you need to research the origins of dubstep a bit more before you start claiming tunes have no substance. I completely understand your mind state when talking about your track selection. Not everybody wants to beat match minimal tunes. I know so many people who will only mix tracks until the drop, then take out the other. What you are looking for is tracks with a rigid structure with intro/drop simplicity and massive basslines.

.

yah pretty much, i guess maybe i havent gotten into minimal dubstep, its so slow ( not BPM, i now its 140, i mean energy, christ! ) for me, but im open to all types of music so maybe ill check out more of it. Oh and btw distance is sick :D.

for the rest of you flaming troll fucks out there fuck off.

it looks like i choose the wrong song as an example, but i was trying to make an example of something that has low energy. i probley should of played something of kromestars cause ive never really like much of his shit.

haha, i know you guys are probley gonna bash on me for that too, but please go ahead cause im not gonna be around on this post to hear it. and yah ill say it, i dont like kromestar :P. its my preference not yours :P.

so for everyone thats bashin on me for choosing that song, ill let you know that i just choose that out of random cause it was low energy style dubstep and not high energy dubstep, THAT ALL IM SAYING.......... but thats to much to say on this site i guess, oh well :P

maybe i do have alittle bit more to learn, i know all of you have been there at one point, but before you start trolling because you have the freedom to hide behind the internet. Smoke a fucking bowl, chill the fuck out, read it again, and say something back intelligent.

Music is very vast, and dubstep is very experemental. because its so experemental means that its bound to have many different type, and also attact different people to like different styles of the sound. I personally love just the heaviest, grimiest, mind exploding tracks, but i love all types of music and can love the minimal dubstep as well ( was never hating in ther first place and i dont know why your all freaking the fuck out. ). So before you freak out keep that in mind.

OP - you need to understand that energy manifests itself in different forms and qawwali has a different type of energy and a different vibe from the tear out stuff.no doubt qawwali gets the floor moving and the heads nodding on a big system WITH THE RIGHT CROWD, it isnt for the 30 000+ to shock out to and those who like the dr. sin stuff will be vibing (moshing) to the more mid range tunes.

but don't say that qawwali doesn't have a bassline because pinch works baselines like federer :mrt:

the only thing that actually irked me is that he used a quality pinch tune as one that has no substance. i know that hating on hype is 'elitest', but that track has more to it than almost all the circus record catologue .

Die Antwoord are fucking shit

Brostep over that each and every.

And Dj Shy, please spare me that joke. Just because it's a track that was made in the period when dubstep was actually called dubstep, (and not ragage haha) doesn't mean that it can't be a classic. Qawwali is one of the all time classics. If you come over here and piss on that track, there are no more valid excuses. It just means you have shit taste and should stick to gabba or happy hardcore. Not saying that's bad music (unlike die antwoord).

Las Vegas sucks.

^^^^ I love gabba and pinch though. Stop with that talk.

Also I will say that I had to hear qawwali on a proper system to get why it's good

It has some serious bass which fills it out a lot more. I mean I'm normally not on shitty speakers or anything. I knew it had bass. Just it really comes alive on a system for me

Hmmm not sure what "joke" your referring to my friend nor am I saying that its not a classic. I think you might need to re-read my post, Qawwali IS A FAT TUNE! I said that at the start, I have it in my record collection! One of the elitists mob had quoted that it was a classic Dubstep tune.... So classic Dubstep is only 4 years old?! LOL! Go figure mate!

And where the fuck does gabba or happy hardcore come into this?! LMAO! Good one!

I've been a dubstep follower since 99, since before it was Dubstep and I love the deeper side of it, don't get twisted mate I just think its pathetic how you lot act on here that's all! If we were in a pub and someone walked in who was wearing something you didn't like would you all start attacking him for it? No! This is why I comment on these things, why I started the thread about deep vs hype! If someone was getting picked on for no reason at all I wouldnt stand by n watch!

Lets just say that you guys protect your "music", well I've been a member of this forum for 5 years, joined the day it was live, maybe I act this was cos I'm protective over a forum that you used to be able to come to and voice your opinions without being picked on by the same sad individuals!

I was talking about the OP btw, not you (should that not have been clear). The only reference to you was about the qawalli not being a classic thing, which has been cleared up (partly due to my misreading your post indeed).

If it's not about skrillex, I don't care about anyone promoting tear-out dubstep (there hasn't been a doctor P hate thread in ages!!!). But when that goes hand in hand with offending dubstep heritage (and note here I'm not saying anything like "true" dubstep or "real" dubstep, just heritage), then I think flame wars are excused.

In your analogy this would be like someone stepping in a pub that supports a local footbal club, some twat from a cross the pond stepping in and saying he doesn't get why we support this club. I reckon he'd get a talking in to.

the way i see it...

lets change the genre to hip hop,
so they OP makes a thread about why there are so many songs that have no substance,

he compares a gangstarr track & a lil wayne track, pretty much says that tracks like gangstarrs have no substance & will put ya to sleep & he wants more bubblegum hip hop that will make ya head explode.

If he wanted some hard hitting dubstep tracks to play in his sets... he could have just said that.

& this cat is supposed to be a DJ? yet he can't source tracks himself.

I love all the musical styles, & each has its own time & place...
but tha OP is just a bunch of cack.

Nice analogy but we are not football teams! With a football team I'd totally understand that kind of behavior! I.E. Hooligans! That kind of behavior is not acceptable anywhere else and this is my biggest grievance with here atm, its full of twats who just nose dive onto anyone who asks a question which isn't to do with what they like! Sad!

And dubstep heritage? I've been here since it started, am I not allowed to like or am I less allowed on here now cos I like some tear out?! lol! Who made you guys king of this site?! Its a forum.... Free for all! You dont have to know what DMZ's first release was or have been drenched in bass at Mass just to get in here and have a valid point! (Althought I do laugh that if you forget yoru password you get asked Kode 9's label!)

Mirren is BANG on, your doing nothing but damage to "what you call your" music by acting in such a lame way! for instance that guy, is it OP? He's gone now, never to come back cos he got Lynched on his first post! Thats just gay man!

If you guys actually paid attention to your scene you'd all live by some of the founding thoughts the music is formed on, peace and love to all!

Bless
