Yo, just opened up my first sketch project song file, and it appears all instances of the nyquist eq are gone. Fruity said they weren't regestered or some such thing.

Anyone having this problem?

Blimey, just found Nyquist. That's an interesting little idea...

Still not overly sure now about the use of inbuilt samplers, and all they have to offer, though?

This contest is definitely designed to get you out of your comfort zone. Good things happen out there.

Hahaha, me either. Given that the most elementary channel in fl is a sampler channel, it's a bit weird when you think about it.

I'm just using extremely basic sampler functionality. Like nothing tricky at all.

I really wanted to enter this but I still have 3 songs left to do for FAWM and wanted to get that out of the way before I did anything else :\ maybe I should just push that to the side and try and get a track for this done today...

EDIT: Nyquist EQ isn't working for me either :s which is odd. It used to work fine in ableton 7 but in 8 it's just not showing up when I drag it in, it's as if nothing has happened. The original 3band version is working for me fine though so I'm gonna use that. Anyone who's having trouble with nyquist 5band type 'nyquist eq' into google and get the 3band version off the first site that comes up and see if that works. Should sit all right rules wise as it's just an older version of the same plugin, exactly the same but with 2 less bands.

I may throw my hat in the ring.. Just noticed this contest, and considering how much time I spent on my other comp song and still lost.. maybe I'll do better if I just power through writing a song in a day.

The contest ends in a little over 24 hours right?

Thinking I might enter my track. So far it's a right hack job.

Wait a minute...PST is 8 hours *BEHIND* GMT, so surely midnight PST on Feb 23rd is actually 5am Feb 24th GMT???

Um... yes. This is correct (I think, but I forgot which way the earth rotates... :6: )

~ re: automation within contest VST's - :4:

~ re: NyQuist problems - I had issues too. My XP desktop sees/runs it fine [using Reaper], but my Win7 laptop sees it but refuses to run it. :u: Ah, well.

Also, having more than 3 incidents of GSinth with 2 or 3 of the GVST dsp plugs running at the same time gives me a lovely C++ runtime error on the laptop and crashes Reaper without fail.

BUT - the good news is because we can use our basic sampling capabilities (cough cough 8) ) to just bounce 'em down, it's not a showstopper.

So far 5 entries and it's looking good - you voters will have your work cut out for you on this one.

I think if you're on the fence or feel your tune isn't as fleshed out as it could be (JemGrover, FluidMoShun) - fuck it - you never know. Submit it! Less is more, after all... :corndance:

Sorry chaps, can you clarify something for me? Does the contest end tonight the 22nd at midnight, or tomorrow the 23rd at midnight?

Please let me know, the former means I need to be a bad dad, and yes, that is quite sad. But if you say it is tomorrow at midnight, I will continue to be a good glad dad.
