haha, every time there's an arbitrary thread that i dont click on because i've already seen the contents elsewhere, and it goes on for 3+ pages, i always guess that people are arguing, and most of the time, that's just the case.

anyway, whoever assumes that American beer is watered down piss, you're correct (as far as the mass produced stuff goes)

but i'd like to point out that the majority of the top10 beers on the top 2 beer rating sites (beerAdvocate and ratebeer) are, in fact, American.... and they're both worldwide communities. i've had beers from all over, and America takes the cake, unless you're into the syrupy barley-wine Belgian goodness, in which case, Belgium obviously wins, but America is a close second in that category.

i'll take any (even average, not even PtE/PtY) american pale ale over the wheaty, flat English ales, any day. America has the most (and best, imo) craft breweries in the world.
