this. i clicked the wrong track tho (not that it'd make a difference...)

Not keen on either, blue is far worse though.

BLUE : Your kick drum was a shite choice of sample, it didn't blend with the bass hits just made it stick out (badly) its like wearing bright pink at a funeral, its just distasteful. The arpy melody was nice but didn't fit in the general vibe of the tune - mix was alright though.

RED: The wobble killed it for me, if you made it subby it would be such a tune - a great example of less is more each every time. Mix was nice, that snare is sexual.. Atmosphere could of had more to it.

This tune battle was so pre-empted as well, there is so much wrong with this thread :|

Hold up...

Another BATTLE ROYAL might not be a bad idea. Loads of bitching going on lately... Maybe it's time once again to draw blades (ahem) to the wind and duke it out? :corndance:

I liked the other tune better, and I definitely could have used the full 48 hours to do something with more personality.

Battle Royal would be fun again, I say we do that. :4:

LOL. If you insist.
But nah, play it by ear I suppose? See who else is up for it. Probably need over 20 people, idealy a multiple of two. Probably would help to get quite a few other experienced heads on board to ramp up the quality/tension

Anyone else got ideas?

im calling this finished half an hour early..for two reasons!

1. at 39-13, theres really not much point in this anymore, its a slaughtering

2. im bloody tired

but yeah, the winner is the red track, i.e. Kes-es

congrats to him, although i think his major downfall was completing the track within a few hours...i had high hopes from the intro, until it dropped, at which point i was a little disappointed.

kebnoa, you put up a good fight, i didnt see how the melody was that bad! but then again i know nothing of music theory. but you did lose, and the penalty as you know is death! if youre going to 're-incarnate', i'd suggest gaining the respect before the ego ;-)

enough of my boring blabblings!

tl;dr
-disappointing battle is disappointing
-obvious winner is obvious

goodnight

only 40 mins left and the battle is pretty much done. so i might aswell say my piece.

both tunes were weak going on some of kes es other shit like merced. tune he made for this falls way below that track. my track sucked 2 and just put them stupid melody's on last minit it when i know i needed to strip it down i was just being lazy. i do use double eps and comps and did in the track. i think their was some bias in the votes cause people kno who was who but i think kes would of still won going on what peeps said in here so i aint going to be bitter.

so what is my fate kes? send me to snh for a year i like it their more then the production forum anyway ;-)

glad to see youre not bitter though, even though there may have been some bias...but its all a laugh!

I don't know really, this entire thing has been pretty disappointing, honestly, but I think my penalty will be that you have to use soundcloud from now on.

No SNH Just use soundcloud.

If there's one thing we can take away from this experience it's that putting two compressors and two EQs on every channel is not going to have favourable repercussions with regards to the quality of your tunes.
