Yeah I can't believe they do'nt allow snapshots in the player. I have read the manual and that was the only thing that's mentioned as limitation for the player.GRAYSKALE wrote:Yeah, I knew it was a stupid question before I asked!! But I'd have been fucking pissed if I'd have shelled out on it and then found out I couldn't automate. Anybody know if the functionality is the same in the Free Reaktor player as in Reaktor 5.5?? (barring the fact that you can't save presets! =O)
Re: Native Instruments Razor (new 'filth' plugin)
so can you use this as a VST??

Re: Native Instruments Razor (new 'filth' plugin)
You can download the free player (ala Kontakt player) and load the ensemble in there.
Re: Native Instruments Razor (new 'filth' plugin)
okay and correct me if im wrong but it only works on 32 bit hosts so its not gonna work as a plug in in ableton right?
Re: Native Instruments Razor (new 'filth' plugin)
If reaktor works...it will.Mike145 wrote:okay and correct me if im wrong but it only works on 32 bit hosts so its not gonna work as a plug in in ableton right?
Re: Native Instruments Razor (new 'filth' plugin)
ahh haaha i cant figure out how to use kontakt in ableton. I put the .dll files in my plug ins folder but its not coming up under my plug ins. Dont really got the scrilla for reaktor.. is anyone else having this problem? fuk maybe im too baked

kk i got it !
time to start experimenting...

Re: Native Instruments Razor (new 'filth' plugin)
I'm definitely going to demo this.
What I really like about this is the user interface architecture. From the user's perspective, this synth works like a subtractive, probably the easiest form of synthesis to learn and use on the fly to quickly create sounds, and even really to jam with. There is no filter because it is additive, but ni replicated the functionality of a filter, but it just so happens it's additive on the back end. Whoopdee freaking do, I know very little about additive synthesis, but I do know how to create with subtractive.
So my hat is of to ni not only for coding this thing up, but for understanding their user base, and providing a tool that uses preexisting user interface paradigms to access a powerful and relatively unexploited synthesis technique. Really, my hat is off to you ni (as is my damn wallet likely open).
Would really like to hear this thing through a good analog filter. Like all those really crisp highs getting into the electric domain... I really want to hear that

Sorry, not even looking right now. New mature nwj lets shit ride for a bit.
Re: Native Instruments Razor (new 'filth' plugin)
wow, this thing is pretty cool...
Impressions after messing with it for about an hour:
Presets are not epic, but you can get some really cool sounds going with some tweaking.
UI is very intuitive and easy to understand what is going on.
Distortion/ Clipping stages can get really 'digital' sounding real quick but there is a definite sweet spot.
Lfo/ envelope assignment works pretty much the same as massive (with the loss of some functionality that massive has: one shot/loop in sustain stage modulations etc.) with the added 'echo' function that makes the envelopes repeat the tail end of the release stage for an echo a effect without muddying up your sound with a real echo. pretty cool idea, kinda works like a ducked delay would
Filters are pretty damn smooth sounding, not analog quality but wasnt really expecting that.
Really good for aggressive bass sounds, my guess is that this plugin is designed for that sort of thing. Pad/ambient type sounds also seem okay but not stellar (this is based on the presets I scrolled through and with some tweeking)

Automation works the same as in any VST.thor_beatz wrote:Yeah I can't believe they do'nt allow snapshots in the player. Re: Native Instruments Razor (new 'filth' plugin)
My brother bought a copy of it today so I've had a bit of a play around, you can get some class sounding stuff out of it!! It doesn't seem just aimed at "filth" though, can get some really nice, intricate sounding stuff if you use the filter section creatively. Definitely worth the money, though maybe not as versatile as massive, it easily matches in terms of sound quality, bit of a CPU hog though!!
Re: Native Instruments Razor (new 'filth' plugin)
I just got this and its pretty interesting.
It allows you to make some pretty crazy sounds if you want to, or play it safe and make some really vibey sub bass.
It has this thing called safe bass where it preserves the lower frequencies no matter how much you distort and filter the synth.
The 3D wavelengths are surprisingly really helpful since it allows you to visually see which frequencies are being affected by which filters and effects.
Really interesting so far, excited to toy around with it some more!

Re: Native Instruments Razor (new 'filth' plugin)
k im back with a horribly stupid question....
Haha i cant figure out how to start a new sound from scratch. Every time i load it up it has the "big cinema" preset loaded. The closest thing ive found is under leads called "init" but im pretty sure thats some other preset cause it has some pitch drift to it
