Re: tune battle, deadly habit vs deadly habit

Please, stop feeding the troll and it's overly inflated ego. Let this thread die.
... You know it's bad when it's me being the voice of reason.
Re: tune battle, deadly habit vs deadly habit
I think the troll split man. Has not posted in awhile.
He is a troll in training, a training troll.
He has much to learn.

it's hard to effectively troll once your cover is blown
all that can be done is to scurry back under the nearest bridge to hide till another day

^^^Well said Jay! You Fucking told him son!

Re: tune battle, deadly habit vs deadly habit
jay, while i agree that your posts are alot more helpful and useful than people give credit for, i think you needa take it easy man (not saying that I would react any better if I was in your situation)

Re: tune battle, deadly habit vs deadly habit
I'm not even trying to "help" myself though. I'm kinda trying to make people see that they're being detrimental to the whole forum, so it's more a way of hoping it'll change once and for all (yeah right)jrisreal wrote:jay, while i agree that your posts are alot more helpful and useful than people give credit for, i think you needa take it easy man (not saying that I would react any better if I was in your situation)

I'm a right prick. It's true. I keep my nose in my own ass most times 'round here though.

Re: tune battle, deadly habit vs deadly habit
lmao, amazing, get in there jay
To be fair, Jaydot does take way more flak than he deserves, I think it's in part because it's become a running joke to poke fun at him now, even when he does something constructive. If it's any consolation I like most of his threads, he makes more relevant shit than I do to be honest and he is a pretty good lad.

Re: tune battle, deadly habit vs deadly habit
I've personally got no problem with Jay's threads. Sure some aren't necessarily useful in some respects, but it beats a lot of the "sound" threads and "help me fix my cracked software" threads. Besides, if I don't want to read them it's just a matter of not clicking the link. I usually do the same for a lot of the other threads but when I see a thread asking a question, and literally 2 posts below that thread is the exact same question being asked, it's hard not to comment.
Re: tune battle, deadly habit vs deadly habit
Personally I always thought the 'Jaydot makes tons of threads' thing was more a sign of affection than anything else.
Like when your at school and you rip the piss out of your mates in a way that you wouldn't to some stranger. At the end of the day Jay HAS made a shit ton of threads. Some of them have been great and some of them have been a bit short of the mark (and some down right weird) but I don't think anybody would rather have gone without his contribution here cos all of his threads keep things interesting and I'd much rather read through tons of his threads than more skrillex sound design or please rate my tune threads.

I just feel the production area could be less intimidating. In many ways it's an ability thing; well it was for me when I first joined; I looked at people's tracks and thought "shit, sooo good" and felt like the noob I was (I still have that feeling to this day), I think it could be a little more friendly to the less initiated, although on the flipside, man, we need the memes and alpacas. They make DSF. It's just that I sorta get the feeling sometimes that some people on here are twunts for being twunts sake.

EDIT: I also apologise if I ever come across a touch too sensitive, having a mare of a day atm.

also Jay man, ALL forums have that snobby attitude towards new members. This one actually happens to be one of the most welcoming sites I've ever been a frequent poster on lol. I think it does the place good. Everyone goes through it when they're new so it's not like it's unfair or biased. I'd much rather people had to earn their respect here than were given it at the doorway.

regulars facepalmI personally think it's a fallacy created by people like you trying to gain some oneupmanship on what you percieve to be the lesser members of the community. Contrary to this mytrh I've made a lot of useful threads, don't care what anyone says. And so what if I haven't, I'm learning new things and want to learn new things every day and he only way I'm going to do that is by making threads, well... duh. Your whole post smacks of arrogance and superiority. These "regulars" you speak of, well I use DSF a lot so does that make me a regular too? Are they an exlusive bunch of the more experienced producers who like to hate on the lesser ones? Then, in the context of a community which is supposed to help people, that's just counterproductive. I don't mind the odd meme or alpaca being directed at me or others, that I can take, but you're just being a pure dickhead here. And can I ask, who the fuck are you anyway? Forgive me if you have some sort of "social standing on DSF but I've never even really seen you post much, let alone constructively. And then you have the audacity to say people are making useless threads. :/ Naming no names but the people on here know who they are who bring the production forum down, we all do. Much respect to the people who are actually very helpful and help nurture producers. Can you imagine how scary this place must be to a noob? YOU are what is making DSF change for the worse. Then you have the cheek to say oh well, such and such is doing this. Toooo much tension and animosity on DSF these days, it has no place in here man. :/ So don't come to me all high and mighty and say that I'm the one to blame, when au contraire it's people like you that's making the place a worse off one.
i was just joking lol. We all love you jaydot, in a heterosexual way.
and damn I'm always the conversation starter well at least 75% of the time and so are you jaydot! I never found you as a problem, annoying, or stupid. I came to late on dsf to have a say or actually try to insult you at all and I was never trying. And now you blow off steam but at me! what the hell man did I just make you crack? didn't mean to lmao thought the read was quite funny though.

I've participated in several forums and this one was always the nicest one.
I'd rather treat someone like shit for a few weeks or days so that if they aren't serious about the topics they gtfo early and stop mucking up the whole bleeding forum with stupid questions and bad jokes. I don't want someone around who is going to leave if I take the piss a little bit.
I don't think anyone hates you for real Jay, it's all out of love.
