Here we go again, the "jaydot makes useless threads brigade". I personally think it's a fallacy created by people like you trying to gain some oneupmanship on what you percieve to be the lesser members of the community. Contrary to this mytrh I've made a lot of useful threads, don't care what anyone says. And so what if I haven't, I'm learning new things and want to learn new things every day and he only way I'm going to do that is by making threads, well... duh. Your whole post smacks of arrogance and superiority. These "regulars" you speak of, well I use DSF a lot so does that make me a regular too? Are they an exlusive bunch of the more experienced producers who like to hate on the lesser ones? Then, in the context of a community which is supposed to help people, that's just counterproductive. I don't mind the odd meme or alpaca being directed at me or others, that I can take, but you're just being a pure dickhead here. And can I ask, who the fuck are you anyway? Forgive me if you have some sort of "social standing on DSF but I've never even really seen you post much, let alone constructively. And then you have the audacity to say people are making useless threads. :/ Naming no names but the people on here know who they are who bring the production forum down, we all do. I'm not even trying to "help" myself though. I'm kinda trying to make people see that they're being detrimental to the whole forum, so it's more a way of hoping it'll change once and for all (yeah right) No wonder there's so many lurkers, people are probably scared to post because they'll get flak. I usually let it slide but some people cross the line. Like I say this place should thrive on giving credit to people and getting due crdit back but it's more a sort of battlefield or something I don;t know. Eeeeeeh well. Back to making music.

To be fair, Jaydot does take way more flak than he deserves, I think it's in part because it's become a running joke to poke fun at him now, even when he does something constructive. If it's any consolation I like most of his threads, he makes more relevant shit than I do to be honest and he is a pretty good lad.

I've personally got no problem with Jay's threads. Sure some aren't necessarily useful in some respects, but it beats a lot of the "sound" threads and "help me fix my cracked software" threads. Besides, if I don't want to read them it's just a matter of not clicking the link. I usually do the same for a lot of the other threads but when I see a thread asking a question, and literally 2 posts below that thread is the exact same question being asked, it's hard not to comment.

I just feel the production area could be less intimidating. In many ways it's an ability thing; well it was for me when I first joined; I looked at people's tracks and thought "shit, sooo good" and felt like the noob I was (I still have that feeling to this day), I think it could be a little more friendly to the less initiated, although on the flipside, man, we need the memes and alpacas. They make DSF. It's just that I sorta get the feeling sometimes that some people on here are twunts for being twunts sake. The vast majority of people on here are sound people, I must stress I don't think you're all stnuc

also Jay man, ALL forums have that snobby attitude towards new members. This one actually happens to be one of the most welcoming sites I've ever been a frequent poster on lol. I think it does the place good. Everyone goes through it when they're new so it's not like it's unfair or biased. I'd much rather people had to earn their respect here than were given it at the doorway.
